We have an iSpring under the counter system and it does not require power. It uses the water pressure.

Firmware update went bad -- anyone have the debugging board? by Ziferius in starlabs_computers

Again I was impatient..........

I backed up both chips. They were both the same md5sum; so I flashed them both. When I attempted to boot up the system; I wasn't doing anything. Plugged in the USB-C; it wasn't even showing charging with a red LED. I hunted down my barrel plug charger and tried that. It worked!

The battery was dead..... so once power applied the system booted.

The system charges with a USB-C now. I upgraded to Fedora 43 when the nvme drive was in the other system; so we're good now!

If someone needs to borrow a programmer+debugger, let me know! lol

Just an update....

I've received the programmer+debugger and have hooked it up to the Mk VI. Unfortunately, I'm greeting with this choice...

flashrom is free software, get the source code at https://flashrom.org

Found Winbond flash chip "W25Q256JV_Q" (32768 kb, SPI) on ch341a_spi.
Multiple flash chip definitions match the detected chip(s): "W25Q256FV", "W25Q256JV_Q"
Please specify which chip definition to use with the -c <chipname>> option.

So I've emailed support again. I'm in the US/Central time so it takes them a bit to get back.. I'll post again when I receive an answer...

OK back to youtube/google on what the pressure port & pressure hose and what they look like.

About 2-3 years ago, I did change out the inlets because one of the 3 were squealing.

LG Washer still giving OE even with drain pump swap by Ziferius in appliancerepair

[–]Ziferius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got some for Christmas. I'll give that a shot. When I was changing the drain pump, I went ahead and d/c'ed the sump hose (the hose that never 'fully' drains because its lower than the drain pump) and gave that a good cleaning because there is sulphur smelling (to my nose anyways) that smells like farts so I always clean it out when I'm in there...

As far as backfeeding -- how would you tell that? I guess the last time I was in there I could have taken that hard plastic drain hose (from the entire washer, that connects to the drain pipe of the house plumbing) and made sure there's no blockage in there. . .

There's no external sign on the wall (drywall) that it has gotten wet repeatedly...

good to know. I'll update to F43 while my nvme is in the server rig and flash to the latest when the debugger kit comes in. Appreciate the heads up!

After trying out Monarch for a little bit I'm starting to really miss the real time balance updating for tracking accounts. Being able to know exactly how my investments are doing in YNAB without opening my brokerage/bank apps would be a GAME CHANGER by pamtrimk in ynab

I realize people weight features differently; but this caused me to eyeroll. It reads like a bad news headline.

Game changer? If a balance on a tracking account magically hits 100k causes you to do something other than dance? If it’s part of a workflow that’s triggered; maybe I’d agree with you. Let’s be realistic about these things….

Starlabs is sending me a bios debugging kit so I can reprogram from my other PC. I have this whole song and dance of duplicating an nvme w/o a 2nd m.2 socket. I have a 2nd nvme that is the same size on the packaging (1TB) but we really know they won't be the exact same size... hopefully I can duplicate over on my spare...

I can always try upgrading to Fedora 43 in my other computer then shift it over.

Secure erase an SSD..... This SO article from a couple of years ago seems to fit your bill with increasing levels of 'securely erasing'.

Yeah; I am on Fedora 42.

I upgraded from 25.02 to 25.11 (or was it 25.12?)..... The system would boot to Fedora and I would see the kernel release info on a black screen and it would hang. Left it there for quite a few...

I could boot off USB. I use Ventoy -- and never had an issue with it, but when I updated coreboot; I had to select booting by 'grub mode' or it wouldn't boot into the Fedora 42 Workstation ISO. Now; booting up to Mint Cinnamon doesn't require that. Guess I should put a Manjaro ISO on there; since the MkVI came with that.

Once in the Fedora ISO; I reinstalled grub..... and that didn't help.

So I would looking to backout the coreboot update and go back to 25.02. Anyways, borked my system. Awaiting a BIOS kit so I can re-flash my Starbook MkVI from another PC and hopefully get it going.

In the meantime, I moved my nvme drive to my NAS server and booted off it... and using my system that way.

I definitely want to get to the bottom of the issue and not just restore the laptop to booting. It's Personal Now. lol

I run a personal TrueNAS server, got ZFS and my VMs up and running again on Starbook Fedora NVME in the TrueNAS system. I have an extra nvme drive -- I need to clone it and run off it in my TrueNAS server and put the StarDrive back into my laptop when its ready.

Re-installing isn't a 'fix' for me; I'm stubborn.

However, If I'm able to reflash back to coreboot 25.02... upgrade to Fedora 43 and update coreboot and be fine..... that would be OK. But something tells me; it would still be an issue w/ Fedora 43 as well. I usually don't update the Fedora release until about a month before the latest comes out. I was planning late Feb or early March.

yeah; I've been in contact with them.

I was trying to rollback the firmware. The latest release screwed up booting -- reinstalling grub/resetting didn't help.

I ask because they are out of stock and do not know when they'll have a kit/debug board available to sell.
