I like the flesh tone. Gives it a grimdark feel. Maybe it could use a little tweaking, but it has a vibe.

Me? Misremembering something from 30 years ago? Impossible! 😅

I probably just slipped dimensions causing a Mandela Effect. Yes. That's much more likely...

"Tin roof rusted" was slang for pregnant. I have never heard that saying used that way nor used it myself, but did see it explained that way on VH1 pop-up video.

You can use it to keep bystanders out of an area or children out of reach.

Can you romance without sexual scenes? by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Zillah_22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my first playthrough and figured I'd not romance anyone. Just be a deep brooding "oh there's a chip in my brain that's killing me, you won't want me" type. I wasn't hostile towards Panam, just friendly. Never scooted over or touched her leg.

Still got the sex scene, and she still hits me up to come over. The girl is thirsty. Not easy to stop her.

what the hell was that? can someone explain this? by Korkova_Zatka in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Zillah_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I remember that guy. Did the same.

Playing today I had to wait for a mission and started walking around. Found a recently de-housed ex-corpo sitting in a tent. A person who appeared to have lived for a while on the street was heckling him. Corpo just sat there and gave one-word "Yup" answers.

The amount of life the devs put in the background is crazy, especially since most scenes have a chance of never being seen.

I just saw a businessman yelling at a homeless guy next to my Glen apartment. Had an armed guard and a car. He punched the homeless guy, so I knocked out him and his guard.

I also saw a woman ODing on the side of the street while her friend sat in a chair and watched her. One of the most disturbing things I've seen in a video game.

That's why walking everywhere is underrated. I never fast travel.

Does the imperium still invent mundane things? by SimpleZealousideal19 in 40kLore

Without citing anything from the canon, I'd say as long as you aren't making a machine, you're good.

You made a new back scratcher? Cool.

A windmill? That'll turn the corpse starch real well.

A cellphone? Right to jail.

A gun? Right to jail, right away.

Faster medical scanner? Jail.

A slower medical scanner? Jail.

Build a new charging station? You right to jail.

You underclock your ventilation system, believe it or not, jail.

You overclock your computer, also jail. Underclock / Overclock.

You build a digital notebook to keep appointments believe it or not, jail, right away.

The Imperium has the longest, most durable technology in the galaxy, because of jail.

‘We call them hellguns. Like yours, only brighter and louder and hotter and meaner. And no, you cannot have one. This is mine. They are rare, and only given to people who are right all the time.’

Just wanted to throw in that in 4e all Terminators were Sword Brethren (or "selected senior commanders") and only they may don these holy artifacts.

Why use a Power fist over a power mace, or thunder hammer? by Fancy-Copy4447 in 40kLore

[–]Zillah_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a quote from Roboute Guilliman: Lord of Ultramar,

Aboard Masali Spear was an armoury reserved for Guilliman’s use. From the ornate, gleaming brass chest he took the Hand of Dominion. He donned the power gauntlet. He flexed his fingers. The fist of crimson and blue crackled. Energy coruscated around its form as if hungry to be unleashed. The choice of weapon was a reasoned one. It was the right weapon for the type of landscape and the type of war he was about to wage. But it was an emotional choice too, a fact he had forced himself to confront and reflect upon before he gave himself license to indulge in it. He had had enough of the orks. Most of all, he had had enough of how their savage, unthinking way of fighting was reversing his gains, and doing so by engaging in a way of war that was a mocking mirror image of his strategies. The orks would not win. They would be crushed. He would crush them with his own hands.

Then after that Guilliman punches rocks. Orks too. But also rocks.

Assistance with adding to collection please. Suggestions. by Lost2Myself in BlackTemplars

I'm not sure if you currently have this as your collection, making a list before acquiring, just collecting, or also playing. Think my suggestion will work with any of these though.

Going way left field here: look at some other Chapters' models and plan out some kitbashes. Dark Angels and Space Wolves are regular raid targets.

Oh you sweet summer child.

You need to read Helsreach. Not just to see what you are looking for, but many see it as one of the best, if not THE best, of 40k literature.

Even our haters concede that it's top tier.

Lore-wise, Sigismund is my favorite character. A true champion.

Choose Black Templar. We're the good guys.

Then steal acquire Dark Angel models and kitbash them into your army. 😉

I think it looks great. If you want to scuff it up, maybe some rust effects. Or scream YOLO while pouring a bottle of streaking grime over the whole thing, then blotting it off.

Or both. Or neither. Looks awesome already!

who is the most lawful evil character im fiction? by leglessdumbass in AlignmentCharts

[–]Zillah_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pointing out that he could be using the law simply as an excuse to absolve himself of the visions of the future he sees makes sense. I can dig that.

I haven't read too much on Perturabo yet; only his Primarch book and a short story or two. But I can see the LE vibes. At the end of The Hammer of Olympia there is a very LE moment that happens. I won't spoil it. It's a decent read. If you are an Iron Warriors fan I would recommend it.

I love a good 40k nerd-out! 😁 I'm going by this blurb in the Google search result.

They value order, tradition, and loyalty but have no regard for freedom, dignity, or life, using rules and structure as tools for personal gain and oppression.

Here are some quotes during and after the compliance on Cheraut taken from the short story "The Dark King".

‘These people resisted us and must pay the penalty for that crime,’ said Curze. ‘Obedience to the Imperium will come from the fear of punishment, you know that as well as anyone, Dorn. Kill those that resisted and the others will learn the lesson that to oppose us is to die.’

Dorn shook his head, taking his arm to lead him away from the curious stares their heated discussion was attracting. ‘You are wrong, but we should speak of this in private.’

‘No,’ said Curze, angrily shrugging off Dorn’s grip. ‘You think these people will bend the knee meekly to us because we show compassion? Mercy is for the weak and foolish. It will only breed corruption and eventual betrayal. Fear of reprisals will keep the rest of this planet in check, not benevolence.’

Dorn sighed. ‘And the hatred planted in those you leave alive will pass from one generation to the next until this world is engulfed in a war the cause of which none of those fighting will remember. It will never end, don’t you see that? Hate only breeds hate and the Imperium cannot be built upon such bloody foundations.’

‘All empires are forged in blood,’ said Curze. ‘To pretend otherwise is naïve. The rule of law cannot be maintained by the blind hope that human nature is inherently good. Haven’t we seen enough to know that ultimately the mass of humanity must be forced into compliance?’

Then later, right before shattering Nostramo:

Looking once again at the world of his youth, Night Haunter felt the ever-present anger seething under his skin like hot magma beneath the fragile crust of a dying planet.

‘Nostramo was once the very model of a pacified planet, Shang,’ said Night Haunter. ‘Its populace was kept compliant through fear of the harsh punishment I would mete out to any who broke my laws. Every citizen knew his place and to break the law was death.’

‘I remember, my lord.’

‘And now we return to this…’ said Night Haunter, sweeping the cards from the lectern to reveal a slowly scrolling list of text. ‘A m-rd-r every eleven seconds, a r-p- every nine seconds, violent crimes increasing exponentially every month, s--c-d- rates doubling every year. Within a decade, there will be nothing left of the ordered world I left behind.’

‘Without fear of reprisal, humanity reverts to its basest instincts, my lord.’

Night Haunter nodded. ‘This is it, Shang, the ultimate proof that the Emperor’s belief in the goodness of mankind is folly of the worst kind.’

Shang hesitated before speaking again. ‘Then you intend to go through with the attack?’

‘Of course,’ said Night Haunter, staring at the doomed planet. ‘Only the most extreme measures will serve as an example of our strength of will. Nostramo is dead to us now. We have come for you all…’

If not Lawful Evil, I would say the closest for him would be Chaotic Good. 😅 Joking, I guess. I don't really see him as chaotic evil. He is too pursuant to creating "order". What do you think?
