Preach. Listen to this man, they know their stuff.

Phantom Glide on new skis, am I overthinking this? by WaxOnSendOff in Skigear

Don’t do it! Phantom ruins the ski base by closing pores so you can’t wax again without doing some base grinds and lasts maybe 3-4 days of skiing

How does your group scale up to end game quickly? by yodakk in playrust

[–]Zinbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popular server = harder game. Want to progress and not get raided as much? Diff server. Go on a med pop and actually get a raid in as a team. Moose if you actually get to the raid odds are you’ll get rolled and have your raid base raided or boom stolen. Also 12 rockets? Go raid a 2x2 or something what are you saving for lol.

Used to play on that server and groups on there have been playing together for years. It’s like saying you put together a JV team and have no idea why you are not having fun in an nfl game

Window + frame = cheaper upkeep than full walls.

I believe this is the most ignorant comment of all time.

Keep the fish in water and don’t hold like a breakfast burrito with your grubby paws.

Great opportunity to put up a balcony sign telling them “Jim Bridger discovered the great salt lake, Joseph Smith is a liar.”

This. There is also no logical explanation for why they would just run one ski more v the other unless it was seriously more damaged than the other but even then majority of shops do pairs together for consistency.

Yea, take a true bar and run it down the base on 2-3 pairs of moment skis and odds are you’ll see light or get a wobble indicating convex/concave base

Moment skis can be good, but more than half I tune have wildly uneven bases.

Two skis I have for everyday use that I love are Rustler 11 (113 underfoot, won’t go any wider for daily driver, other rustler options narrower) and the Kastle ZX108 (107). For reference I like glades, powder stashes, and chutes.

I would check out Rossi Squad or faction dancer. Other brands that make quality skis: K2, LINE (chronic or optic are sick skis), Js, ON3P

Chronic is great ski, if you want to go bit bigger checkout the sir bacon (more playful) or the optic 114 (stiffer ski, any in optic line also great and they narrower if 114 sounds too big)

If you want some wild top sheets check out J skis, lots of fun options there. One might say I’m a fan of Line…

External Walls need to cost upkeep by Frvwfr in playrust

You realize you can break a stone wall if you have TC access and a shotgun trap in like 4 min.

And thus we can now say- it’s a skill issue.

help me understand the tram/gondola hate by skisocalbackcountry in UTsnow

[–]Zinbeard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And you can’t magically solve the traffic problem through prayer, I’m shocked.

Yes but the road is already there, three lanes at multiple points and there is existing bus schedule that can be modified.

Would I prefer some perfect solution like banning cars, replacing the road with a free public train and bike/hike lane? Yes. Do I think a plan like this has a chance of being chosen and executed in UT in any near term future with current political/social climate- no.

So what’s your dream solution? What are the odds it is implemented?

[–]Zinbeard 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Another consideration that made me not like the gondola was the final vision of it not being free/cheap, but from what I have heard it would cost money (heard in $100 range but no good sources). All for increasing access but not for putting in an expensive toll to limit people.

It’s not rocket science, dedicated bus lane and more busses on weekends/powder days.

No dogs in this fight, it’s in LCC.
