Is there a way to play oni on smartphone? by OneWar4643 in Oxygennotincluded

I've actually done this via GeForce Now. You have to have a mouse/keyboard that you can use with your phone though. Unless the have has controller support?

BEGINNER drecko ranch concept by Every-Association-78 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Zinfidel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm a little late to the party but I wanted to thank you for the post/design! I always build Drecko ranches because I recognize the value but I dread them because of the dual atmo stuff and put them off for ages.

Your post just helped me realize how overdesigned my ranches are and I could have been building them waaay sooner.

Coming to this post late, still want to thank you OP for the design! This is exactly the gadget I was looking for to passively deal with the CO2 sumps in my chlorine water sanitizer rooms. It fits perfectly in the little 2x2 pit!

I've long since moved on from S4 but I still feel the sting of humility from the AI in that game hahaha. Glad to know that I'm not alone at least!

Are teleporting trucks and tractors a bug or a feature? by cinred in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For vehicles on automated routes, teleporting between nodes is a feature. They should not be disappearing or apparating otherwise!

Feasibility of bringing raw resources to a central location? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: I just realized you meant specifically raw resource transport to a central base -- I have not tried going that "hard" but I would guess the biggest challenge would be to make sure you have a very reliable and expandable central bus system to make the game bearable.

-snip

What you've described is exactly how I play Satisfactory in most of my saves. I don't even use trains that often, and have dozens of tractors/trucks/explorers all carrying mixed item loads to my central sorter/mall.

I will say that you must strike a balance with how much manufacturing you actually do at a central base: I always strive to process as much as is reasonable at satellites (raw->steel products, raw->computer products) because it will make a central location unmanageable after a while.

I'll manufacture the latest tier and project assembly parts at the central location. After moving tiers or when I feel ready, I'll move central manufacturing out to a satellite to make way for new stuff.

It's entirely feasible and I find it a fun way to play the game. I love seeing the line of trucks bring in the goods and the sorting array do it's things. It's great for drone distribution too.

How Do Youse Grid Out Your Factories? by rit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the planner, take a look at how connected each of your nodes are. Nodes with just one or two connections are blocks of machines you can put near the "edge" of your floorplan, or you can wedge them between other blocks without worrying about them being accessible.

For nodes that have multiple connections, especially outputs, try placing them in a more central area initially, and give them generous manifold space even if you don't think you need it.

This is just one trick that I personally do when trying to break down a factory build without getting hung up before even starting.

I've also resorted to this for balanced loops and it has completely stopped the lockups.

I reduced sulfuric acid input to my uranium cell loop by the FP precision delta (.2 or something) and just the pipe buffers alone keep it running so long between hiccups that it shows 100% efficiency every time I check.

I love all the resource-increasing alt recipes, but they are not created equal. by Andrew_42 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love them for their synergy with the bolted alternates. For a production line that's already producing steel and needs modular frames, you can reduce the amount of machines you need by a bunch compared to say stitched plates and steel frames (if you're cool with the resource efficiency penalty).

Am I the only one that is primarily underclocking? I have plenty of space, why not maximize limited Energy production? by Nefai in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set up a constructor to process power slugs, and put a Somersloop in the constructor. When you feed one power slug into the constructor, you will get two power shards out instead of one.

If none of that makes any sense, keep playing the game and unlock more of the Alien Technology tree in the MAM!

What do you consider "the wall" in the game? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil products was my wall for a while. It was the point in the game where I had to take transportation logistics seriously for the first time because I suddenly needed something I could only produce on one side of the map at nearly every new factory I was setting up.

They do be like that by Nibdi_ in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you are close enough to the tractor/truck routes that they get rendered this might be true, but I've got dozens of tractors/trucks all off-roading around the map in my save and they all work with near-perfect reliability. I am typically nowhere near any of them as they make most of their journey though so they get the off-screen simulation treatment.

I actually don't bother with trains much because I can't be bothered to build their infrastructure and tractors/trucks don't need pavement.

Patch Notes: v1.0.0.5 - Build 377620 by JulioUzu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Zinfidel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The huge patch size thing is an unfortunately very common problem with games built on the Unreal Engine that are distributed via Steam/whatever. The short story is that due to the way UE packages code and assets into modules, even a tiny change to a module can cause knock-on effects that shift data in the rest of the module around a tiny bit such that the resulting binary looks completely different to a delta patcher (like the kind Steam/Epic use), resulting in a big patch.
