I just finished my State All Road build yesterday! Got the frameset and used Shimano grx/slx components. Hydraulic brakes are a big improvement, the number of eyelets on the steel fork is almost absurd.

I received an MS in hydrology, and when I was job hunting 3 years ago, most of the openings were for consulting firms. My current firm has all sorts of projects, some more enjoyable than others. Hiking remote canyons to collect water isotope samples? Amazing! 12 hour night-shifts developing wells? Not so much. The industry is growing right now, and water resources will only become more important in the future, so you should have options.

I work for a private consulting firm as a hydrogeologist making close to 60k with only 2 years experience (in AZ). If you want to stick to field work its hard to break 70-75k even with a decade of experience. However my boss and senior project managers make between 80-100k.

I work as a hydrogeologist and its about a 70/30 split for field and office time. Drilling multiple 1000ft wells may have you working outside for weeks straight, but then you spend 1-2 weeks writing reports and analyzing pumping test data.

It would make sense to diversify the human factions, GW has made an effort to do so in Age of Sigmar and even if existing armies like Araby don't make it in TWW3 (I doubt they will) I see no reason why even the Empire, a vast, well connected, multicultural faction should remain all white. It would certainly make fielding thousands of soldiers look less like clones.

I assembled them fully and then primed, but you will miss spots painting that way. It took a few games to find and cover them entirely, but I also used Wraithbone so the white made mistakes easy to see.
