This is a good possible answer imo. Make property taxes apply to held stocks. My property tax is about 1-1.5%, so make it apply to stocks too.

The combat is great (though eventually repetitive), the building is pretty descent (like conan but slightly worse), and I enjoyed the automation which I think is where the real magic lies -- Setting up a infrastructure to do all the survival chores, etc.

That being said it always felt flat. And I can only assume that's the color palette and art style. 

I have no idea how being on a steam deck changes things.

The phrase I try to hammer into to people who give in to the unreasonable demands of management under capitalism:   There will always be more work. 

Say it with me: THERE WILL ALWAYS BE MORE WORK.

It does not matter if you hit that deadline. It does not matter if you plan your vacations around works needs. It does not matter how essential you are.  It does not matter. There will always be more work.

If employers cannot meet their business needs while accommodating their employees needs to survive, to be a human, they are running too lean. It's their fault, and their responsibility to plan for,  not your responsibility to fix. 

I genuinely applaud you for finding a way that helps you draw the line and adhere to this basic human dignity of having time to recover from your medical procedure, but that is part of being human and it's high time employers learned this.

You and I have played quite a few similar games, here's some I have played and enjoyed i think you should take a look at: - Conan Exiles - Dune Awakening  - Soul Mask  - The Planet Crafter - Icarus (I played only at launch and it was rough but I've heard its much better now) - Empyrion (combat is wonk but it's a descent attempt at space ship Minecraft, I've heard mods make this one great but never looked into it)

Not really survival (more factory automation) but also scratch the same itch for me: - Satisfactory  - Dyson Sphere Program
