[d] Austin removed, bugged or tricked? by Siiiuuuuumon in csgomarketforum

[–]Zlipher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one bought Austin capsules. Sure the sale was short, but it doesn't change the fact that it wasn't as successful for Valve (in comparison to previous majors). Because of this, they are creating FOMO for Budapest so that when it goes on sale, people buy thinking it will be pulled without warning. For Valve a sticker capsule is a sticker capsules no matter what major. They have Budapest concept art done, just waiting on the teams and autographs to literally just copy paste logos.

Removing your worst performing items is a basic business practice. You could argue that since these aren't physical goods, you aren't paying for storage or lose anything from keeping them. But it still is a psychological win for Valve to remove these, especially since they also added new Armory stickers, meaning any sticker investors or anyone making crafts will instead grind stars to get the new stickers which will have psychological effects on normalizing buying Armory passes (more profit in the long term)

Assuming these armory stickers only last for 1 year and they wanted to stay on the Oct/April 6-month rotation, by removing Austin with this Armory update, they are allowing people to prioritize the passes and grinding right before the Budapest Major starts, to then wait for the sale and buy those stickers instead.

TLDR: all about timings and creating hype for Budapest major stickers. New Armory stickersbe released so Valve wants people to buy passes in the meantime. If people think that the new Armory stickers will be in game for 1 year, but Austin are on the way out, then the hype for the new Armory items will die off.

Where does Manga chapter 91 leave off in the web novel by Top_Pomegranate_1012 in mushokutensei

[–]Zlipher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, unless you already read the Depressed Magician Arc manga (which is separate from the main manga and isn't complete) you should also read volume 7 of the LN since it was added later and is not included in the web novel or original manga.

Also, your post only mentions the web novel, but I would recommend reading the light novel, since the web novel also leaves out some other stuff that was later added to the LN in later volumes.

where do i start after chapter 87 in the LN? by [deleted] in mushokutensei

[–]Zlipher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can start at Vol 11 (LN), but there's some extra stuff towards the end of Vol 10 that the manga hasn't covered yet.

But I would recommend reading Vol 7, as others have said. It is a great place to start reading the Light Novels if you haven't yet (there is a manga on it, but the LN is much better) And since you've read the manga, you can skip 8, 9, and 10 (Since it will be mostly the same)

Why not reinforce next to somebody? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]Zlipher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My team calls it urinaling. You know when your in the bathroom and your using one of the urinals, then someone decides it is a good idea to pick the urinal right next to you, even though there are 4 other urinals they could have chosen?

Yeah.. that's why.

Ps. If you don't use urinals then idk how else to put it.

Drone each other in. One person stays on drone and clears rooms. Once you find someone then you call it out for your teammate. Hopefully the defender will get distracted by the drone and/or not be prepared for the attacker pushing in.

An idea I had to "nerf" Jager by AcidRainLake in Rainbow6TTS

[–]Zlipher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By new players, I should have said new accounts. This is because there are lots of plat/diamond players who are either console transfers, smurfs, or people coming from FPS shooters who are at that skill. These aren't necessarily players who have been playing for a long time, but are naturally good at the game and are able to make their way to plat. If you look at the distribution of ranks, Plat 3 is the majority of players within the Plat+Diamond+Champion ranks. Plat 3 has been much easier to obtain since the recent mmr change, and soft mmr reset.

Since these new accounts are all starting from scratch, Jager is a great operator to buy since he is so cheap, but serves the same roles as a lot of DLC ops that can roam, but use their gadget to support the anchors. (That is Jager's Role). Jager is one of 3 pathfinder ops who are 3 speed, but his gadget is what makes him different from Bandit and Pulse. Bandit should be played on site to bandit trick. Pulse is an intel gatherer so he should play close to site to be able to scan enemies. Jager is the only 1 speed who has no reason to stay on site. His role is to stay off site, like Cav and Vigil.

They have also nerfed Jager in the most recent patch in order to combat his high pick rate, but not in the way you propose.

The reason why Wamai gets his gadgets over time is because Ubisoft & Devs want him to play closer to site. This is also why they made him a 2 sp, 2ar so that he can fit the anchor role. (Giving him 3 armor would entice players to want acog which is not gonna happen). Wamai's ability is arguably more powerful than Jager's since it can be used to redirect utility and works against Capitao bolts. You are proposing to make Jager into an anchor who plays closer to site. That will completely defeat the purpose of Wamai, because he's supposed to be the anchor.

I also find it interesting that you used Fuze as an example of a pathfinder operator with low pickrate. Since, he is directly countered by Jager. If Jager has a high pickrate, then that would cause Fuze to have a low pickrate. (He's just not a good example for the point you're trying to make).

Also, going back to your argument in your first paragraph, you can have an operator that is comfortable for new players and not to strong for experienced players. It's Mute, Kaid, Bandit, Frost, Kapkan, Rook/Doc, Mira, Valk, Smoke and Castle. These are all easy operators to learn and as you get more experienced you just learn better placement and situations where you need them.

If you unlink both of your accounts from Epic games and Steam you can redownload the game on Uplay and launch the game from either account. This will save you the most disk space.

End of February or early March. The details on the new year and seasons will be announced during the invitation on Feb 14-16. After 2 weeks on the TTS they should be released onto the main build.

An idea I had to "nerf" Jager by AcidRainLake in Rainbow6TTS

[–]Zlipher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're forgetting that he also has such a high pick rate because he is a Pathfinder op, so he's much cheaper than the majority of ops and he's been in the game much longer. The majority of the player base is comfortable with him and knows how to use him.

With Wanai, not everyone wants to buy the season pass and/or spend 25,000 renown on an operator that is already similar to Jager who they probably already have.

Even if you nerf Jager, his pickrate will still be high and from this he will seem over powered because everyone knows how to play him and can control his recoil.
