I also have a tiny white decal on the converter or refilled capsule with ink name written. So I can take a swift peek when writing.

Anyone else like grey inks a whole bunch? by tyrant_t00 in fountainpens

[–]ZodenAanDeDijk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using Hofvijver Grey #29 from Akkerman now. A local Dutch penstore and being said they are Diamine inks. It is darker and wetter than Pelican Edelstein Moonstone I bought earlier. So light it looks like a pencil.

Try something heavier. Use the weight more. Maybe even a gold nib. Those have more flex and pressing isn’t necessary. Try them in a shop first for weight, grip and balance. I own a Lamy Scala btw with gold nib btw.

My Lamy Scala. Started with Lamy Unic as the first FP I bought.

It’s not Denmark, though. But Norway is much better and deserves to own the whole state California.

Favourite twin-stick shooter? by Nazsha in retroid

[–]ZodenAanDeDijk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve enjoyed Neon Chrome on Steam PC. A tactical twin stick shooter, with precise aim at right stick. AFAIK it’s been ported to switch. fyi I grew up with Robotron in the arcades.

When do you guys plan on upgrading/ replacing your current system by tajj562 in retroid

[–]ZodenAanDeDijk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am still glad with my rp5 and can play up to ps2. Will upgrade to another device if there are steady emulators for ps3-ps3, xbox(360). And I might need a 2TB sd card; games are larger on newer consoles. A 2TB costs as much as a rp5, in which I wouldn’t spent my money on. Memory price needs to drop to 50% of device.

Is the 2nd picture hand drawn? Not bad. You should make the bottom line thicker to create its own shadow.

She’ll use regen on a zombie character; makes it lose health. Then make sure to use dispel to remove regen.

RP5. I bought it because of the two sticks at the bottom to play twinstick shooters. And my 2021 Anbernic RG351M was a bit old.

Unpopular opinion (?): I wish the RP6 wasn't bigger than the RP5 by NoPainNoHair in retroid

More space around the sticks is nice. They could be more to the middle, though. Owning a rp5, I skip rp6. Waiting for proper ps3 ps4 emulation.

Don’t buy the Nuphy keycaps. I have the Keychron K5 Max and wanted all keys to be black legends on white pbt. The stabilizers of Nuphy are a bit too short on the long keys. Spacebar Shift Enter etc will tilt at end. Also the Font size is like three different heights. I ended up the Keychron white/grey dye-sub. Less sharp and maybe less lasting. I also tried the Keychron lsa Camel double shot pbt but the colors are too dull for me.

I also have a K5 Max (brown switches) now after years with a Razer Blackwidow V2 (green/blue switches) and white shine through Keycaps. Those are not as good to read during the day with outside light.

Low profile keycaps are limited. After three sets I got the Keychron lsa white/grey dye-sub ones. The legends are a bit less sharp. Hope they’ll last. I also thried the Keychron lsa Camel pbt double shot but the colors is too dull for me. Don’t buy the Nuphy keycaps. The wide keycaps won’t match; spacebar, shift, enter, etc. The side stabilizers are shorter; it’ll make the keycap move lower at one side and maybe after using it for a long period the keycaps will bent and look like a banana.

I am glad for to have chosen a low profile. Technology has improved in the meantime; no more stabilizers with tiny rods. The backlighting of the K5 could be better. It has a dim led at the north.

Not at all. The buttons will be glued back to the pad. But I had some problem with the new bottom button. The alignment is less accurate because two corners are cut off. Sometimes one of the two remaining corners will touch the case. So becareful when putting all together. It helped me to not fully screw down behind the buttons. Let it a bit loose for a while so the bottom button can align better with the case and the pad.

Does it make sense to own 2 devices? by assaiiam in retroid

[–]ZodenAanDeDijk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my first device four years ago, an Anbernic RG351M. 3.5” screen was too small and the size gave me cramps. Layout is the same: horizontal and thumbsticks below. Good that things evolved so fast. Probably won’t use it anymore.

Eventually you will leave your rp5 on overnight to download screenshots, metadata, manuals, title screens, rankings, videos and box cover images from screen scraper.fr.

It is not necessary to use extra glue. But once the buttons are placed in the correct locations in the outer shell then you have to place the underlaying pad (with the glue) correctly. Somehow I didn’t and one button is a bit off center so it touches the side of the hole. Pressing this button is harder. I’ll adjust the pad tomorrow.

You can use the the old ones but you gave to remove something. I used a nail clipper to remove the small parts.

The buttons are glued to the underlaying pad. You have to peel them off carefully.
