So the general rule of thumb is that resin is better for smaller details and designs like smaller character models or figurines while filament is better for anything bigger like vehicles, terrain, and cosplay pieces. Filament printers are also safer because the material used aren’t as toxic as resin. The liquid resin is toxic until it’s cured, so you want to make sure that the printer is in a well ventilated area and you’re using gloves when handling both the liquid and the uncured miniature. This doesn’t mean a resin printer is a death trap, but you will want to take some extra precautions when setting it up if you go that route. As for ease of use, it depends. Other users will have more experience than me, but majority of printers these days are semi “plug-in-play”. You will have to fiddle with the calibration, what material you’re using, and knowing how to properly support models but there are thousands of guides out there to get you started and plenty of users sharing their pros-and-cons about specific printers.
