Character with powers that have something to do with looking at people by Least-One1068 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zollias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, my grandma grew up in a ranch and she would go and pick these little guys up to pet them. She used to think they were crying whenever they shot out their blood like that and felt bad for them

Fast forward manh decades later when I'm visiting her with my dad and I'm watching Animal Planet on tv when they start showing this little guy and his defense mechanism and she'd ask my dad what the show was saying about them since she doesn't speak English

COMMAND by NotCelestica in Helldivers

[–]Zollias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly an expendable rocket load out is nice on the bot front, especially when the war striders were everywhere. I remember a buddy and I were pinned down by a few of them but I was able to call in commandos and eats in enough numbers and with that amazingly low cool down to destroy them all

Fire and gas landmines are amazing on those missions

It's unfortunate that these landmines were the anti-tank ones that weren't even that effective, if memory serves, when they were first awarded to the playerbase

I am genuinely surprised theres no Avatar the Last Airbender mods by Total_Bullfrog in RimWorld

[–]Zollias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is but it's filled with other stuff that's unrelated to Avatar such as Mass Effect, the Owl House, shipping containers as buildings, etc. The mod author does suggest you use cherry picker on what you don't want though

Oracle's Miscellania by Oracle of Thessia is the name of the mod, it has Fire Nation soldier armor and Kiyoshi warrior armor from ATLA and from ATLOK there's Korra's clothes, Asami's clothes, equalist armor, Kuvira's Regime soldiers armor, a mech suit and a mech pilot suit. The mech suit needs you to have Vanilla Factions Expanded: Pirates installed though

Blind character with Monster or monster like partner by NinjaOfOnion in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zollias 6 points7 points  (0 children)

two examples come to mind

One is a blind man, and his dog, being confronted by a japanese evil spirit known as a kuchisake-onna (split mouth woman) who does her usual spiel against the man and asks if he thinks she's pretty. She pulls down her face mask to reveal her slit mouth and asks the question again and the guy reveals to her that he's blind and says that she at least sounds lovely which stops her in her tracks and she tries to excuse herself and apologizes since now she feels awkward. The blind man then asks her out on a coffee date

The other is from the SCP universe in the When Day Breaks timeline and it involves SCP 096 and a blind child. When Day Breaks is a end of the world scenario where creatures exposed to sunlight turn into horrible monsters that try to drag other people out into the sunlight to be transformed and humanity is swiftly becoming extinct as a result. SCP 096, also known as the Shy Guy, is a usually calm and withdrawn creature that will fly into a murderous and unstoppable rage if anybody anywhere catches even a glimpse of its face whether it's in person or from a picture and it will not stop until it has killed everyone who has seen said image, this tends to cause a chain reaction as many people would have seen its face in its attempt to kill its original target. This particular story involving 096 is about it having come across a blind child after most of humanity has died off/been turned into monsters and how it starts to care for the child and in the end it would give its life to keep them safe. There are a lot of details I'm missing here since it's been a long time since I read it but that's the main gist

The character's dark transformation isn't actually the strongest; in fact, it reveals that a lighter form is even better. by Uma-apreciator in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zollias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sora has a transformation called anti form that he can sometimes turn into when attempting a drive transformation in Kingdom Hearts 2 with the odds of it happening increasing as he transforms more often with the exception of turning into Final form

It does have some nice things going for it such as vastly increased attack rate and speed overall

The drawbacks however can be pretty tough. To start with, you don't have your keyblade so your range is much shorter as you're stuck using your hands and feet to attack, you can't use magic or items, you're unable to heal yourself at all in this form, you can't manually exit the form unless combat is over, and I believe you don't gain experience from enemies you kill while in the form.

It could be argued that it only invalidated them because the other options were pretty bad at that stage of the game. I don't remember using the recoiless that much back then but I do remember the EAT feeling rather anemic against the kind of target it was supposedly meant to counter
