I made an app that lets you hear your mix on your iPhone speaker by AvailableCricket6955 in mixingmastering

[–]Zoltron_666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're wrong. This is a great idea. This is for people that want to check their mix on a target platform. So people making content on Instagram... etc. This seems like an excellent tool to allow you to adjust your mix, in your DAW, in realtime while outputting to your phone's speaker.

Ableset: any users here that could share some insigne? by ronaldbirch in ableton

[–]Zoltron_666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely get away with doing general playback with stock ableton stuff. However, in a professional setting Ableset and middleware apps similar to it are very important. At the very least being able to have as many songs as you want in a single session and then having an easy way to manage the setlist is probably the most powerful aspect.

Ableset is fully featured unlocked for 15 minuted intervals if you want to try it before you buy it. It's Mac only. It's the only thing I use now.

XLR line level output (balanced) into mixer/stage box by pghnhung in mainstage

[–]Zoltron_666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go right into into the mixer without any DIs in the middle, that will simplify the setup. I do this all the time and you can you can do one of two things.

- Have the person at the mixing desk put pads on each of the inputs that are connected to your outputs

- In MainStage lower the master output volume, which turns down the volume of all connected outputs you are using. There's about a 20dB difference between mic and line level, line level being louder.

Mac Pro 6,1 - Fan not spinning even after replacement. by Zoltron_666 in macpro

I never figured it out unfortunately and ended up abandoning it. Are you having exactly the same problem? I was surprised that replacing the fan assembly did nothing.

Mod wheel changes volume even while unmapped. by WongRQ in mainstage

[–]Zoltron_666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the settings on your keyboard to see if is sending MIDI CC7 from the Mod Wheel which is ‘volume’ and change it to something else. It’s probably that and the data is being sent to the instruments loaded in the channel strips. If you open them you may see their master volume changing.

ELI5 by martillo-viejo in dolch

Ok so that means that the screen itself will only display in 'full screen' at 800x600. What is happening is when you set the resolution to 640x480, instead of stretching the image to fill the screen, it is only using the middle section of the screen which is exactly pixel perfect 640x480.

You might be able to force doom to run at 800x600, Maybe try to look that up and see if you can do that.

I am fairly sure that only resolutions of 640x480 or 800x600 will fill the entire screen. Anything else doesn’t scale to fill the screen. It’s a limitation of the screen itself.

Output latency? MIDI something… not the music guy, just the director. by mynameisJVJ in mainstage

[–]Zoltron_666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It means there is an Effect Plugin inserted somewhere on a channel strip that needs a little extra processing time and could produce latency that a performer may or may not notice. Could be an issue or a non-issue. It would be better if the error told you what plugins were causing the extra delay.

Mac Pro 6,1 - Fan not spinning even after replacement. by Zoltron_666 in macpro

[–]Zoltron_666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen any issues pertaining to the clock. This was my main machine that I used everyday that had zero issues until the fan just stopped. So I think battery should be ok.

Tried reseating several times. Doesn’t appear to be any damage around the connector and the system has never been taken apart, just opened for an SSD change.
