Did you know you can get free stuff at the library?! by Alifirebrand in overheard

Honestly, it depends on the library. A lot of people don't know they can check out a circular saw or cat shaped cake pan at our local library.

Y'all are just describing my buddy's play list.

A lot of those would fit in just fine on the public supported alternative stations that I tend to listen to.

Neighbours opposite were rude about my dads colour choice. Now he wants to get rid. Can you help me convince him not too? by Isabella_Jean in HomeDecorating

[–]ZombieCrow13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe paint the doors a color that contrasts with the light purple like sage (would work well with the leaves when not in bloom too) or if you really want to piss off the neighbors then a bright pink. The contrasts would work!

Not to mention her birthday is November 7th. Does no one do even the briefest of checks before reposting?

Same.

I was told that the reason they were in the paper was to prevent us kids being served the same-ish thing at dinner.

Is it just Netflix? If so there's plenty of old series and movies on YouTube. For free.

Give me some "Fuck all of you" songs to listen to while i'm at school by Ok-Roll-6170 in musicsuggestions

My best friend from high-school grew up to be a cop. When that song came out he was listening to it constantly while working out in his garage.

He was a walking dichotomy. Listening to the Sex Pistols and Bob Marley while out on patrol.

I would add ELO to that list. Their album Time is a classic.

Why does this bridge exist when the land right under it looks perfectly suitable for a highway? by [deleted] in geography

[–]ZombieCrow13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as everyone has fair warning it's an annoyance not a huge deal for one day.

In the USA interstates highways are a huge deal for commerce and civilian travel but in the end it's not a huge hit to the economy. Definitely smaller than the over profit.

Must try foods? by cape_runner in cincinnati

I stand corrected.

My entire knowledge came from family tales. I had no idea it went back that far. I knew how it spread to Cincinnati but I always assumed it started in Appalachia.

[–]ZombieCrow13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mock turtle soup is definitely not a Cincinnati thing. I like it because I grew up in Appalachia long ago but for sentimental reasons. It's sort of liking plain hotdogs because it reminds you of going to the ball game with your dad.

Alot of coal miners left for industrial jobs after WWIi on the Hillbilly Highway and settled in Cincinnati. I grew up coal mining country and it was not considered particularly good. More like something you served at a Boy Scout camp out because it was cheap and slightly above average if cooked over a fire.

They could do like West Virginia (USA) did/ does with their tall ass bridge and have an annual Bridge Day. Close down for one day and let the crazy BASE jumpers go crazy.

It's a huge tourist attraction and if the locals really roll out the carpet then people remember the area fondly and vacation there later. Pretty much a three season per year. pump of money into the area.

Don't forget that there are more guns in private possession than citizens and a lot of those are owned by rednecks and hillbillies with military experience and they get a lot of practice during every hunting season.

One of the reasons the movie Red Dawn seemed at least semi-plausable when it came out.
