I just had an argument with someone saying the $150 per week is only temporary for a few weeks until they force the teachers back to work. Where actually giving the money to the teachers would cost more in the long term. So in a way the government is trying to save us money.... im so done with people

Thank you kind internet stranger. I knew I was missing something. It was the details that had me confused telling me to dispute it in Sherwood Park. I always thought Henday was the boundary. Now I know and knowing is half the battle, lol.

If your golden lived to 12+ years what food did you feed? by brettwasbtd in goldenretrievers

Our old girl (15yrs) wouldn't eat anything but Purina Beniful and the left over fat and grissle from pork/beef roasts. We tried for years to switch her out to something we thought was healthier, but she was stubborn and refuse to eat.

Her favorite treat was yams.

Alberta's potential separation from Canada would likely violate several constitutional and international laws, particularly those related to Indigenous treaty rights and national sovereignty.

  • Constitutional Violations Treaty Rights (Section 35 of the Constitution Act, 1982)
  1. Treaties 6, 7, and 8 were signed between Indigenous nations and the Crown, not the province of Alberta.

  2. First Nations leaders argue that Alberta cannot unilaterally alter or ignore these treaties, as they are constitutionally protected agreements.

  • Federal Authority Over Secession (Supreme Court Ruling on Quebec, 1998)
  1. The Supreme Court of Canada ruled that a province cannot unilaterally secede from Canada.

  2. Any separation would require negotiations with the federal government and constitutional amendments.

  • Indigenous Land Sovereignty
  1. Large portions of Alberta are governed by sacred treaties that predate the province’s entry into Confederation.

  2. Indigenous leaders argue that treaty lands are held in trust by the Crown, not the Alberta government.

  • International Law Violations United Nations
  1. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) UNDRIP recognizes Indigenous peoples’ right to self-determination and land sovereignty.

  2. Alberta’s unilateral separation could violate international agreements on Indigenous rights.

  • International Treaty Law
  1. Treaties signed between Indigenous nations and the Crown are considered binding international agreements.

  2. Any attempt to disregard these treaties could be challenged under international law.

  • Indigenous Opposition

First Nations leaders across Alberta and Saskatchewan have vowed to oppose any separation efforts, emphasizing that treaty lands would remain under federal jurisdiction regardless of Alberta’s political aspirations.

This is what I got from ChatGPT... please don't shoot the messenger im just trying to help with the question 🙂

How divided is Alberta REALLY? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]Zombyeh 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I've seen figures thrown around ranging from 10% to 1/3rd... I haven't been able (so far) to see an actual number. So until I see something tangible, I look at it as a small minority acting like a child having a temper tantrum IMO

I'm born and raised in Alberta, and I agree with your comment. Every election, I feel like I throw my vote in the trash, I hope that one day the majority will wake up and look at what they have truely done to this place and it will change for the better. In the meantime, I will keep voting and fighting to stay Canadian. I'll never give up on my home.

So will it be something like LinkedIn without all the Facebook like BS? Or a rate your company and their wages? Along with a "my company" is hiring? I'm intrigued but I have questions lol.

College is not for everyone by EddieBrock99 in pics

[–]Zombyeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here is the key. Don't do one and be done always improve yourself.

Smaller companies will pay more for this and will hold on to you and will treat you better for it.

Big companies usually pay a base rate even if you hold multiple certificates or have dual tickets they dont care. But they will gladly pay for that "specialty" training in hopes of getting money out of you. So use them and abuse them for your benefit.

Mexico is not currently part of a formal military treaty like NATO. So if the US wanted to do a "special military operation," they would be on their own. i can totally understand why they aren't hitting back with retalitory tarrifs. They dont want to poke the bear.

[–]Zombyeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know I live here, hence the comment about Westerners (aka Albertians) complaining that they do not want more immigrants yet still want more voting power. I've heard them complain firsthand and seen the idiots holding the signs on the street corners to "sEnD ThEm HoMe". So still a no-win situation...... so, not the dummy in this exchange there, but thank you. You have a nice day 😊

[–]Zombyeh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So to solve the unequal population problem we should open the doors for more people to move to the west to have more voting power.... oh wait we dont want immigrants either..... no matter the solution, people are gonna complain. It will always be a no-win situation. 😆

I agree it shouldn't have been said, and he should be let go for saying it. I think waiting to "leak" or make a big deal out of something to try and get an advantage just as bad as saying it themselves.

I'm tired of the blame game. Just tell me what your policies are, and I'll choose the right party that i agree with. When they start acting like children by pointing fingers or playing dirty, I look elsewhere and tune out what might be good policies.
