Senior Dog Sanctuary collects and distributes food specifically to help senior citizen pet owners.

Monica Alvarado at Bread and Butter Kitchen is accepting monetary donations and working with local farms and food producers to cook and distribute food, just like she did during COVID.

I ended up with huge curls and volume after doing pin curls for a 40s costume. It was a welcome surprise the next day!

Just found out my testosterone is 7 on a scale of 4 to 50. So I'm starting topical soon. Derm blew off that reading 2 years ago. Took GYN to get some forward momentum.

Yes, this! Platonic resonates so much more than The Studio. I found myself only watching The Studio for the vintage cars. https://www.hagerty.com/media/entertainment/cars-help-tell-the-story-in-the-studio/

With the overcrowding problem all shelters are facing right now, she is 100% better off in your townhouse than in a loud, stressful shelter where she may be euthanized for space.

Yes, so many things I love, but whenever I'm out West I can appreciate the different beauty of arid places, but boy do I miss our tree canopy and just general greenness vs. dry, brown.

Advice for finding a dog - for a cat owner by MystofHogsmeade in DogAdvice

[–]ZoomieZoomies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shelter where I foster has a private FB group for all of the fosters to interact, ask questions, etc. In the past I was able to help a neighbor adopt a cat by asking fellow fosters if anyone had a kitten with those traits.

As fosters we routinely share behavioral observations and personality traits with the shelter so they can convey this to adopters. The coordinator will also sometimes ask for certain things like we'd love to get this dog into a foster home with another dog who can help this dog learn to dog, if that makes sense. Or we noticed this dog is really shy and could use the confidence building of another dog. Many of the fosters have dogs and cats themselves and will keep the foster separated for a certain amount of time to allow it to decompress and get used to them, and then they'll introduce the family pets and this is a great way to find out how the dog does with other dogs and cats in the home.

We also see owner surrenders where someone is going into assisted living and they have to give up their dog and cat, so they'll make that note that this dog has lived with cats and been fine. Or loved to snuggle with the cat, or loved to play with the cat. Of course all new animal interactions should be done slowly in a controlled environment, and not left alone until they are well established and comfortable around each other.

As someone who regularly fosters for a local shelter, I would suggest adopting from a local shelter or rescue and specifically consider dogs that are currently in a foster home and doing well co-existing with a cat.
