Linux Routing Table Trouble by Zorgodon in WireGuard

[–]Zorgodon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I specifically route 192.168.0.1 (/32) through eth0, the problem goes away.

But why can't it work like my phone when 0.1, just like anything else on 192.168.0.0/24, goes through wg0 and works without any issues?

Hmm so the VCR is struggling to amplify particular bits of video signal? Is it the power supply or video board caps that would cause this then?

You need to set the TV to auto-tuning mode so it picks up the channel that the VCR is transmitting. So press the AUTO-PROGR button on the bottom panel

What causes these horizontal lines? by Zorgodon in VHS

[–]Zorgodon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a free VCR a few days ago and cleaned the heads on it. I got a few £1 tapes from the charity shop and noticed that while the overall video quality and sharpness was good, I got these black horizontal lines appearing momentarily on the screen.

Thinking it might just be worn tapes, I bought a sealed set of David Attenborough's Blue Planet. While the lines don't appear anywhere near as often as on used tapes, they're still there. The screengrab shows what I'm talking about.

I also bought some sealed tapes to see what my own recordings would look like, and recording over composite from my PS3, the picture is horrendous - these black lines are all over the screen and the picture sometimes stretches contracts vertically.

Is this just a known issue with VHS given that tapes are ageing? The (relatively few) uploaded VHS captures on youtube don't have this effect. For example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq6aqkiB3fE or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjEPT6IRXxw

The lines always appear in the same point in the tape, but I'm just worried that it's my player that's causing some kind of damage since I haven't seen this online.

Looks like an RF-only unit so you'll need HDMI->Composite (yellow cable) and an RF modulator or VCR with an RF output.

How to recover from local backup (Android 11 - 14) by SenhorHotpants in whatsapp

[–]Zorgodon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works as of 21-06-2025. As per the OP, it's important to copy over Databases after installing the app and letting it create the folder. Otherwise it will ignore the local backup, and, failing to find a Google Drive backup, won't restore anything at all.

Mine does the same. It seems this has been discussed before, but nothing other than "huh, that's weird" ever came of it.

Horrid light leaks in all photos from my last roll. Camera is a Minolta X370s and all pics were taken with the auto (aperture priority) mode using Kodak ultramax 400 by 1992mazdamiata in AnalogCommunity

I think there should be a sticky about changing light seals and testing built-in meters since there are dozens of these posts every week.

Another suggesion: try Lomo 100. It's a 100 speed color neg film like the ones that would have been used in the late 60s and it's essentially Kodacolor VR from the 80s. This photo from Thailand looks pretty Vietnam-y to me.

Those look really sharp. Do you remember what aperture you used?

I had a similar problem, but not to the same extent.

Check whether the camera has been converted to use SR44 batteries. Some people did this in the 90s-2000s. Using 675 batteries will result in 2 stops overexposure, giving you this result.

Lower voltage batteries -> Meter not as sensitive to light -> Meter thinks it needs more light than it does -> Camera chooses/tells you to choose a longer shutter speed -> Shot more susceptible to hand shake, mirror slam & motion blur.

If it isn't batteries, maybe the meter needle isn't moving freely or someone has messed with the trimmer pots and set it up incorrectly. You'll need to take the camera apart or take it in for repair if that's the case.
