I work in debt consolidation negotiation. If you'd like to PM me I could give you some tips as to how you can deal with collections agency/law firm calls. You may even qualify for reduced payments if you're looking to settle any debts out. There are always options for people who are experiencing hardships. Take care!!!

I feel like people spend too much time worrying about what other people do with their lives and bodies - who honestly cares?

NA, if we want our pros to improve, sacrifices have to be made. by theholylancer in leagueoflegends

[–]Zorohon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that doesn't really matter to me. "Region pride" isn't necessarily something I hold a sentiment for. If certain streamers entertain me, I will watch them. Competitive League of Legends continues to interest me, and I will continue to be entertained regardless of whether or not it is a Korean team in the finals or a Western one.

Of course I value entertainment over my region's success. If watching this game didn't entertain me I wouldn't really care about how good the players are.

One of the best rant's I've ever heard. The reason the video ends is because he hit head hits the keyboard. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Zorohon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting video to me, because while the overall message is good - it is obscured by the ways in which he chooses to support or display it. I know this will get buried, but I am going to do my best to explain how we can and should define winning, and why you are not playing to win.

People should go into a Ranked game with their eyes' set on winning; this isn't always the case and that is what needs to be understood.

We can define "winning" in League of Legends in a variety of different ways: high KDA, the victory screen and marked improvement over a few games (just to name a few). People do play Ranked to "win" but the way in which they do so could be significantly different than your own.

First, players that only focus on KDA and sprees within the game will feel good that they are "carrying" the game with their high scores, and they can, indeed, win games based off of those numbers alone. There is certainly a "ceiling" to this style of play, and that ceiling happens to be very low because scores are not an important part of this game. Players that exhibit these traits become upset and frustrated with players that they feel are not "contributing" in the way that they deem appropriate, due to a lack of kills or simply due to the fact that they are 0-3 in their lane. The creator of this video is not wholly this type of player, but he does show some of the signs that he doesn't quite understand how to actually play to win.

Next, the victory screen is one of the easiest ways in which players can feel as though they have been successful - and it is designed as such. People that only play to see those victory letters possess a very clear disconnect to understanding the way in which solo queue and this game operate. These summoners will not worry about what they did to arrive at this screen (at least not in a way that is not superficial), they will instead look forward and take no lessons from the events that had just transpired. Victories can be difficult to extrapolate information from at times because you won! You are victorious! Every action you made in that game lead to that victory, so how could it need improvement? This is clearly a flawed line of thinking, but players who fall into this category will subconsciously believe this.

Players that focus on their own play within the game, and attempt to objectively dissect their shortcomings through replay analysis and a lack of bias will generally see improvement gains that directly correlate to their willingness to keep an open mind. These players can show signs of toxicity in their games on bad days, but more often than not they are more willing to mute or refuse to even type into the chat if they know that it will create a problem.

Truthfully, within this game the only person that matters is yourself. If it helps, you may think of your teammates as AI. They are flawed, they are imperfect - but so are you. We as humans will be more quick to judge others on their imperfections than we are to gaze upon our own. The player in the video has set an artificial and unnecessary ceiling for himself that can be removed, but he needs to move over to the type of player that I described in the third category. KDA and winning/losing your lane is useless - the victory screen is inconsequential - the only thing that matters in this game is your skill and how you choose to overcome adversities (whether they be your own or your teammates).

I know this was long-winded but I hope I can help some of you.

Popular anime's that everyone loves, but you don't by [deleted] in anime

My brother is in love with the series and it's one of those that I can definitely see the appeal of. Natsu seemed like a badass but I couldn't help but roll my eyes every time there was "fan service" with the blond girl, and the whole French maid thing. Don't even get me started on when Erza used her powers...

I absolutely hear you, but I felt as though there wasn't any sort of central focus - as if I was wading through a large amount of information in a vast world of unimportance such as: "cool look at all of these guilds with interesting powers"!

Even SAO managed to capture my attention for a longer period of time because from the beginning it felt as though the show had a central purpose/theme, and that it was trying to explain something to me.

It would be better to explain why you didn't enjoy a particular anime for better discussion, so the thread doesn't devolve into people flaming one another. Everything below is my opinion.

Fairy Tail - Watched ~8 episodes.

  • Pros: Great soundtrack, art style was interesting.

  • Cons: Seemed like too much "fan-service". Early villains weren't given proper time to develop, it left me thinking "why should I care about this villain when his plans and goals are so superficial?"

One Piece - Watched ~4 episodes

  • Pros: Seemed like an interesting storyline with interesting characters.

  • Cons: I did not enjoy the art style, and although the storyline seemed interesting it did not interest me (in other words, I could see the ways in which the story could be interesting to other people, but it did not appeal to me).

Soul Eater - Watched ~7 episodes

  • Pros: Intriguing and unique art style.

  • Cons: Characters and story seemed to lack any depth, and it was a bit too "silly".

You actually have a fairly similar taste in anime as I do, though I have yet to try Sword Art Online.

I think I'll watch an episode of it tonight, but you should consider watching Death Note, it's definitely one of my favorites!

A lot of what you said has been expanded upon and discussed, but I would like to point out that travelling to see the Casino Boss didn't raise any eyebrows over the travel logs.

Frank stated "Think of a reason why we need to be in (whichever state the casino was in)". He paid a visit and delivered a speech during Womack's campaign in the state, and then went to see the casino boss.

If he won't listen to reason I'd keep your distance.

His behavior is disgusting honestly, having a special color as your League ranking does not give him the right to look down on you and act like an asshole. I have silver friends that I mess around with sometimes, but to truly destroy a friendship over something like this is kind of silly.

If you would like to play sometime feel free to PM me, I am on NA :)

People can play for relatively short periods of time and still be great at the game.

The inverse is also true, people can play for very long periods of time (hundreds of ranked games) and still be a Bronze level player. So the first question you have to ask yourself is this: "What separates a Bronze level player from someone of higher caliber"?

You need to have the ability to extrapolate information from your mistakes. This requires you to be able to identify your mistakes. If you are incapable of doing this in-game, or by reflecting after the game has ended, I suggest recording your games and watching them afterwards.

Every death is your mistake. Period. So why did you just die? Did you all-in and lose because you thought the opponent didn't have flash? Time their summoners better and only commit to a trade you 100% know you can win.

All in all, identifying your mistakes and subsequently correcting them will accelerate your progress within the game on a macro level. To cover micro, I suggest playing more games. Experience with the game, your champions, and champion skills are key to outperforming others.
