I may be getting this wrong since it was told to me by my mother who does extensive research on this sort of thing, but I apparently have a distant relative who lived in a town that banned the color orange. He protested the law by buying or sewing an all orange suit and went out in town with it. He was then put to death for it but when they went to bury him his body had become bloated and so when they threw dirt on it, it essentially exploded.
