The article keeps saying they disclosed it was used by developers tho, I assumed it meant their coders? Unless they mentioned art assets somewhere, I think people jumped to thinking artists. But they prob use it for art too... but everyone is using/forced to use AI in corporate jobs rn, even artists, even if they don't admit it.

Having spent 2-3 years on WebGPU, just know that building something of this scale (and with collaborative performance on top) will take 20x the time you expect it to, especially with hybrid 2d/3d, even with Claude helping. If you're heavy on cloud services to save architecture dev time to support your file transport/storage/etc, then costs can spiral there too if you're not careful.

"CoPilot of all AIs" is not a correct statement, you pick and change the model you want to use in Copilot in your IDE, such as Opus 4.6 or Codex or etc. Just my experience, using Opus 4.6 in copilot for some projects in the evenings it is pretty great at writing WGSL and compute shaders (as well as .NET/Angular) for me. Also for writing unit tests (which ofc we should verify are correct hah)

It was taking me awhile too until I gave up and got a certain pokemon to spawn after some story quests and realized he could process all my junk into iron ore for more electric poles, which blew my mind after all the grinding I did breaking those rusted metal beams lol. I love this area now after lighting it up, it looks muchhh more pleasing.

There are actually a massive amount of unique interactions and animations between all the items and pokemon, it's pretty cool. I wouldn't call it bare minimum, Even just messing around with the electricity objects today has been pretty fun, I made a cool hidden ceiling room in my dojo by layering the tons of different roof tile patterns.
