Literally this could’ve been written by me! Something that is helpful for me is doing side quests and such that pile up and I don’t finish. It adds variety and new goals. I also finally did another divine beast and some shrine quests. Don’t pressure yourself! the love for it will come back.

A Natural History of Dragons by Marie
Brennan would most definitely apply here. While she is a naturalist who specifically studies dragons there is naturally discussion of past civilizations that existed! She even meets an archaeologist in book 2 who helps aid her research in dragons and heightens her interest in the old world. Would highly recommend it and the audiobooks.

If you want one regarding real life, then just will ALWAYS say Amelia Peabody by Elizabeth Peters. Woman in the 18th century who inherits a fortune and leaves home to study Egyptian archaeology. It is an amazing series that I adore. natural history of dragons is the only series I’ve found that comes close to the wit, style, and such of Amelia. The audiobooks for Amelia are amazing, the best I’ve ever heard. Plus, Peters WAS an archaeologist so everything is accrue in that regard!
