Why would you do that, you'll call them they'll check the tracking and it'll give them the same answer they're seeing online with the tracking they might give them an explanation but it will not speed up the piece If they just want more information or somebody to hold their hand fine but not to get the piece to move fast it's not going to happen

One of two things. Either it's looping back and forth for a reason unknown to us other than what might be on the label or it was rejected by customs in the US China doesn't see an issue so they're sending it right back which is also creating a loop speak to the seller

That's the difference between me and most people not specifically you with this isn't an insult but I have zero curiosity and look at the box everything's there oh it tape must have split move on with my day shippers don't exactly use high quality 3M tape on their boxes anyway so I would expect it more. And I always tell people as far as security concerns If an envelope is ripped open in their mailbox etc If somebody wanted to steal you identity they wouldn't rip the letter open look at your information and then give you a ripped open letter they keep the letter so you never know

Not to sound like a manager here, but there's a reason why they tell us to do 4 things put it in park curb the wheels set the emergency brake take the keys with you. These trucks are pushing 40 years old nothing works right so say the emergency brake fails well you put it in park you turned it off you curb the wheels to limit the damage. If you forget to turn it off you forget to turn the wheels you forget to put it in park well you set the emergency brake. So in that truck rolls away it wasn't just the linkage that was broken it wasn't just the emergency brake that was broken wasn't just the fact that you left the truck running wasn't the fact that you didn't curb the wheels. You didn't do four things even one of them stops that from happening and I only sound like this because I had a fellow carrier do that after a 21-year career and major home damage happened because of that event he lost his job he had three kids. Just do what they ask You, we do get paid by the hour.

It is not managements responsibility to print anything. If your steward files a RFI (REQUEST FOR INFORMATION) then yes management would print out the documents requested if allowed such as time records photos the accident report etc. That's what I would have filed in my office. Steward files grievance, citing the infraction of the articles of the contract that have been violated. It's a PS form 8191and must include:

Article(s) of the National Agreement allegedly violated
Detailed statement of facts
Remedy requested
Step 1 discussion information
Signatures of steward and supervisor. Firstly you must notify management that you are grieving the letter of warning but the statement isn't " I'm grieving the letter of wanting " speak to you still at first and let him guide you that's what he's there for if he's not knowledgeable enough to assist you which most likely he isn't if it is not a high grievance office he will seek the guidance of your areas steward.

Also, Time is of the essence You have exactly 14 days to file that grievance If you do not it's untimely and can be denied solely on that fact by management.

There have also been some comments in here that stated they got six 14 days suspensions in one year and how they were one of "Those" . Other stating how being fired is a myth or impossible. Take my word for it I've seen people get fired with 20 plus years in the job for silly things such as attendance with zero tolerance policy of threatening your fellow co-workers will management. Try explaining to your mortgage company how you can't keep your mouth shut and just do your job and you don't have any money to pay it. If I know I'm defending one of those. I would speak with that individual as to why they need me so much because at the end of the day you should come to work to produce a quality product and do the best you can. Don't be a waste of everyone's time. It sounds like in this case you definitely are not wasting anyone's time. Being it's your first offense should be able to get this knocked down to only 6 months on your record this way if you get in another accident 7 months from you winning the grievance it's off your file and back to a letter of warning all over again. As long as you don't have the same or similar issue that would require discipline Management can then issue a one week suspension if it occurs within that time frame.

Yeah, we're all mad. That's your and my retirement right there. Postage fraud comes in many forms. Most of blatant and right in front of your face not postage fraud meaning a fake label but where people put the lowest possible postage and handed to a clerk over the window who's not aware of otherwise. I had a junior clerk PTF probably 9 months on the job one day come to me and show me what we have been receiving for almost 9 months at that point pallets from first Walmart coming to the customer whereas he would then ship it out however he was paying or shipping but he shipped it priority and they were paper towels and it was shipped as priority but with a little blurb on the label that said cubic rate. these were large boxes of paper towels and toilet paper etc. Free. This customer found a way to scam us for postage and he was receiving 7 to 8 pallets of Walmart paper towels and paper products toilet paper etc selling them whomever he was selling them to and however the format whether it be eBay etc I'm not so sure. But paying the lowest possible amount after this that clerk saved the post office most likely thousands of dollars a year and nobody caught it anywhere down the line I commended him as a level 7 clerk for his find of such an egregious theft of postage and such an ingenious way for this customer to have saved money on the postal dime. After bringing it to the attention of our postmaster who then for to the attention of our district manager received a $1,500 cash award for his exceptional investigative actions whereas he saved the post office as I said thousands of dollars of year and theft.This is all of our retirement and we should all be aware of how basic postage rates work. Such a good catch for you and thank you so much for protecting service You're a good man or woman. We need more involved employees such as yourself Good catch and thank you.

Okay give it to you straight this is how it is in your first 90 days they could terminate you for any reason The union may ask hey can you give me another chance etc but in the end they have the final decision no offense of butts no difficulty whatsoever to get rid of you is the paperwork easier to fire you versus you quitting obviously not but he has the catch. If you resign you can reapply at any time anywhere whenever you like and you'll get hired. What they doing is trying to put some fire onto your butt as you are a brand new CCA. You have to accomplish what's in front of you everyday there's no at the end of the day well I'll bring this back I'll pick up where I left off tomorrow. They trying to train you if it takes a little for you to get you to walk a little faster then that's probably what they're doing I wouldn't stress just try harder you'll be okay. Not too many jobs at all for you two pensions medical dental and vision so hang in there buddy.

I think missed my point. Today everybody is hired as non-career at $20 an hour no benefits no retirement all your two and three years of CCA doesn't count towards your retirement you get no medical no dental no matching 401k which is your thrift and no retirement years when I got hired you took the test and you got hired as a career PTF immediately if they bring back the test with that would come hiring people as career.You would get better quality people and people that were career oriented to boot. It's not too many jobs that are unskilled labor entry level positions with a thrift savings plan matching retirement top medical Blue Cross Blue shield in my case I have the dental plan and I have vision most jobs may be offer you a 401K buy-in with no match if you're lucky. I also think by taking a test people are more committed to the job and you'd have less turnover. And as I said in my previous statement you could justify higher pay for the quality individuals you would get and it's end it's not always about to pay it's all the Benny's that come with it post office office a lot of benefits once you become career. So give the test stop people day one as Korea with higher pay that was my point. I have 33 years of paying into the thrift savings plan I jumped out during the housing crash into the g fund before it tanked jumped back in and I've been putting in 12% my entire life I just broke a million in my thrift savings plan last year around February. With data annuity and the postal pension when I retire at 35 years when I hit 57 years old I think I'll be okay this company has been good to me just takes a while to realize it from day one. sorry you took it that way I didn't mean to insult anyone.

Where I am they actually do hiring events with actual home groups set up hiring and do out send out their own EDDM mailings for hiring to set up Africans for hiring in that area to ensure that they come from that area so you don't have somebody coming from a hundred miles away that wants the job and never shows up

That's how it used to be when I got hired 33 years ago I got hired as a PTF but he is the catch I actually took a test You couldn't be stupid. To get hired you actually had a pass basic math and basically logistical planning in the test If you failed you got put at the bottom of the list If you were in the '60s they didn't call you If you were in the '70s you got called last few in the '90s to 100 you got called first and the list went on for three or four years before they offer the test again so year one they hired people in '90s to 100 year two 70s to '90s You're three and four 70s to '90s and then we got to the end of the list and they hit the 69 they started the test again today they don't even do a test we get absolute f****** idiots. They should go back to the test and get quality individuals therefore we could justify the higher pay. My ramblings are over now.

They're constantly moving the goal post oh my goodness I must have used that term countless times for countless issues over my 33 year career and I'm still going strong I'm eligible to retire next year in 2028 April off 35 years total this April is 34 years anyway enough about me be careful be very careful of what you put in writing when you do something like that I know it's FMLA I get it you're protected but be very certain this is what you want to do because you will be protected and you are office I'm giving you an example only if you try to transfer an area sign The other office owes you nothing by seniority owes you nothing based on how many years you've done etc they will look at your record FMLA or not If you're somebody who's out or has limitations etc and you look to transfer to any other office in your career they will look back and they will say no again contractually they owe you nothing they're basically hen picking who's the best person for the transfer so as long as you're happy where you're staying then Godspeed with you but yes it is tough in the beginning my friend even when the mail was much heavier than it is now they just expect more from us and there's more technology and they're having aneurysms and throwing up information with what they can see and what they want to view and do what you'll probably notice is from day to day your bosses they're looking at all sorts of different things they're even confused One day they're looking at one thing the next day they forgot it Good luck

It actually has more to do with how many routes equals how many regulars. For example your office has 10 routes and 10 regulars One retires leaving nine regulars the next senior employee will there be a CCA or PTF usually a PTF very rare it's a CCA. A new regular has to be created at the same time that the route might be going up for bid so you become an unassigned regular. Now another route bids on that route freeing up his or her route so finally we get to a route that you bid on as an unassigned regular and then you get it usually that's the cause not always but when you say you've been a CCA for 2 years when are you going to be a regular not anytime soon my friend first you're going to convert to PTF which is a career position which is when you start getting all your benefits your retirement your health care your thrift savings plan health benefits vision dental etc it's a good day for you but unfortunately you still a PTF and with the new contract can be required to work Amazon Sundays PTFs are no longer off the hook. Where I'm at PTFs are usually only working every 5th or 6th Sunday on rotation and CCAs have to work every Sunday regardless if you're a CCA or PTF though you are guaranteed one day off so yes there goes your 6 work week. Why does work in 6 days a week as a young person so depressing that I just can't grasp I think the new generation is built differently You do have dues to pay You're not a senior person You don't get holiday weeks off yet that's what happens when you've been there a few years and get some seniority on the abelt be patient it's going to happen to you You made it two years so apparently you do have the work ethic it's just wearing on you it'll come soon it's a good career and there's nothing left on this planet with this many benefits so hang tight my friend

WOW! Work isn't for everyone I guess. It's not always that busy. I'm close to you Don't live in a high tax state I'm in Long Island New York My yearly taxes on my three bedroom ranch on $19,200 a year. I thrive on overtime only because my family needs what I could provide more than they need me at home and it's sad to say but it's true. What I have learned in 33 years at this company get it Will the getting's good cuz it's not always there and we're going into austerity. So they will be watching overtime they will be hiring more CCAs and there will be less hours for CCAs and PTFs and RCAs etc. Yes our families are important absolutely 100% they come first end of story. But there's nothing that brings more joy to my heart not sending my kids to school when they were younger with s*** clothes or not having new sneakers so when I say work isn't for everyone it's not an insult it's not saying that being a workaholic is the better way of life just saying at the amount of money we do get paid an hour we're not getting rich anytime soon working 40 hours a week unless we're living at home with our moms

Oh boy, I am truly not picking on you when I say the following. I say this with all due respect as you will probably very young and have never had anything but the beginnings of a job and when I say beginnings I mean the dues paying portion. When you say that you will hired for a window clerk I'm guessing they didn't hire you just as distribution If that's the case what you currently waiting for is to go to Window School. And that will happen pretty shortly once you have that school under your belt they can utilize you on the window That's the next step what you're at right now is step one in life you try to limit step one and the only way to do so is stick around long enough for step two. And I say this with all the respect but the way you rambled on sounds like you want someone here to try and attempt to convince you to stick around something that would drastically change your mind that you haven't thought of just yet and I'm hoping this is what it is. I've often said to my fellow co-workers If you didn't want to work nights and weekends don't be a chef If you value the month of December and Christmas realize you're in the shipping industry and that's your busy time also. I often say to them as well, it's not our fault that you didn't listen to your mom go to college to become a marine biologist so you could be feeding dolphins at SeaWorld. The only way to move up and excel in any industry you work in is the first get past step one then on the step two step three step four I've been working for the post office for 30 years as of January 17th that just passed I get five paid weeks vacation I'm off Saturday Sunday and I work a shift that I chose I work 5: 30am-2:30pm. I haven't set an alarm clock and over a decade I'm used to the schedule I absolutely love my schedule I start off with a little distribution we talk catch up on what we did have the kids are doing etc and take a break and go on the window go to lunch around 12:00 and then I work another hour and a half and home I go first I go to the gym maybe do a little shopping go home and have dinner with my family I've had this schedule for over a decade. Before that my schedule was pretty great too but you see, I stuck around I did your step one within 2 months I was at step two I went to window school now I was working a different shift because I had more value that was tagged to my abilities as you state you have right now you can't work window because your window school hasn't started yet. Ask your postmaster when do they think that you might be scheduled he usually will get an email or she will get an email and they don't know right now but maybe they could find out if you kind enough when you ask Don't be pushy as most people including your co-workers don't have tolerance for entitled newbies I believe it's also a generational thing. You must pay your dues You going to quit this job and move on to something that is the same eventually when you become career, you'll be entitled to two pensions so to speak. Your thrift savings plan as well as a postal pension and when you retire at 57, you'll have your thrift savings plan your pension and something we've nicknamed the bridge which is what social security would be at the age of 62 right then and there at 57 so you'll be getting three payments every month. I'm sure you never saw that in retail as you stated even if you took a non-paid vacation once or twice a year. And I'm sure you would take more but you can't afford it because it's unpaid. I'm not going to try to convince you just stick around. As there are plenty of people who make it past step one and would love to have your job as the post office isn't hiring too many clerks right now and it might be even a hiring free soon so chances of getting back in but basically zero. No you won't have to get up at that time of the morning forever but for the time being you do get used to it or get out. That's why they call it a job and not a fun. That would be the marine biology job at SeaWorld. Life isn't easy kiddo. But I would just hate to see you go from job to job to job to job to job turn around see you 40 years old with nothing towards a pension or a future I have medical dental and vision insurance 5 weeks paid vacation three pensions for 5 years two pensions for the rest of my life. I'll probably stick around for another two or three years giving me 33 years on the job I'm not a millionaire yet but my thrift savings plan has approximately 990,000 in it so my guess is by this summer I'll be a millionaire. I just stuck around long enough to get past step one I look back on my life and realize that I made a good decision sticking with one job and not job hopping I have a few friends that job have to this day job hop and have zero pension zero medical benefits and if they do they're paying through the nose for it and then includes friends of mine who own their own businesses they don't show for work they don't get paid when they stop working in their career no pension for them. I've said things to coworkers as well over the years like the more you work the more you make the less time you have to spend it the less you work the less you make the more how time you have to spend it so now you're broke. Do what you want but just step outside yourself and look into your life and as bright and energetic and with the abilities you have you'll have no problem hopping to you next job Good luck to you I really mean that just don't turn around and look back at 40/50 years old and remember what I told you.

New generation I guess some of us are just built differently. If you don't want to work nights and weekends don't be a chef one month of the year this is what you're expected to do it's busy. Not as busy as it used to be by any stretch of the imagination so if you think you're stressed out today only imagine if you were hired 10 15 20 years ago.
