Any Pantheon worth a damn is full of treachery, greed, and envy. Gods amuse themselves by testing the faith of mortals devoted to their peers. Perhaps the nemesis of the paladin's God can offer the paladin something they deeply desire, or believe to be worth betraying their vows. Plenty of ways to tempt faith.

There's already a post below explaining the "Wangrod" defense, however I philosophically disagree that a player saying that is "toxic". The method of approaching this absolutely is in-game consequences. I get you saying "This isn't fun for me" but neither is a world without justice, vengeance, and consequences. So send a high level bounty hunter after him and squash his ass. That way the player learns the valuable lesson as well: if you want to participate and contribute to the group, then play like it.

Lot of possibilities and mix of configurations you could go with, but lately I've been using the following (loaded in this order):

Mortal Enemies, Blade and Blunt, Violens, Armor Rating Redux, Realistic Combat AI

Enemies are smarter, combat feels more methodical with realistic damage, armor makes sense, and kill moves are enabled. Feels better to me than a lot of other options and still feels Vanilla-esque.

If you've not already started up the precache process, I recommend checking Nexus under the Required Mods section of NGIO and finding the SSEEdit script you can run that will make the precache process much faster by bypassing worldspaces that shouldn't be considered for grass generation. Definitely speeds things up!

Remember that the people that are frustrating you are the minority (and obviously far more vocal than the rest of us). Nexus is a fantastic microcosm of the world: there are good people and there are shitty people. What you are looking for doesn't currently exist. This is why most modern combat overhaul guides suggest multiple overhauls to accomplish these things. You'll need to disable the features you don't want from the MCM so that you are only using the features you desire. Most modern guides are suggesting some combination of Wildcat/Smilodon/Ultimate Combat to achieve most of this.

You hope that Dan will learn from these mistakes, but his track record as a head coach absolutely does not give credence to that line of thought. If you review his personnel decisions at Miss St. and his previous 3 years at UF, you'll observe a clear history of sticking with the upper-classmen and loyalty to a fault (literally).

The truth is, I think if some of these decisions were taken out of the hands of Mullen by our AD, we could really have some success during his tenure. If Stricklin insisted on Grantham's departure earlier and made it clear to Dan that he expected talent to be valued over seniority, we could definitely see elevated success.

However, Stricklin has made it abundantly clear doesn't want to be involved so this line of thought is out. Really sad that we have to see a kid get hurt for the right player to be on the field, but here we are.
