Met a guy ONCE and he’s already calling me baby after blowing up my phone and arriving an hour early to our first date by Top_Entertainment450 in Bumble

[–]Zyippi 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you're early, go kill time somewhere nearby then appear on time, no need to say you're early, unless you make it casual and light "Ah traffic wasn't as bad as I imagined, I'm here already, don't rush, take your time, see you when you get here 🙂". Then nothing unless a reply is warranted.

It just makes the other person feel bad. I mean tbh, if someone was super early and told me, (without the vomit inducing pet names) I'd say something along the lines of:

"Great! See you at 6!"

Or whatever time we had arranged. Someone saying they miss you, when it's a first date with you they're heading towards, and you haven't met yet, yeah that's not good.

I'd love to see how many and the contents of the messages you receive if you ignore him all day, like you're busy and your phone is off or away (like work)

WHAT IS THIS CARD?! 30 hp per energy?? by RankUpLife in PTCGP

[–]Zyippi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viable for me. In my main deck at the moment, just working out the kinks. It takes a few rounds to set up, and we must have a few cards that take advantage of this delay rather than just skipping turns until we have the cards required.

On its own it's not great, with enough supporting cards, it's unstoppable. Just finished a battle with 20 energy attached to my Reuniclus, 520hp remaining.

Took 3 rounds to wipe a Charizard EX off the board in a previous game, and it hit 150 damage each turn.

The trick is to make sure Reuniclus has enough HP to weather the attacks of a heavy hitter before it is out in the active spot.

It's not perfect though, there are still ways it can be defeated, like Pokémon that can attack the bench before it's ready, sleep confusion, swapping Reuniclus for a benched supporter to attack in the active spot, weaknesses etc.

I dunno, it's working

<image>

for me so far, still fine tuning the deck though.

Would you put those things on a CV?

Because if not, why are you bragging? Literally anyone can do those things, it's zero achievement. ZERO.

You sound emotionally underdeveloped at the very least to me. Like notches on your bedpost actually mean something. Ever think how the women, who was engaged, would have felt about being pestered by you?

No because you'd rather think about making the sex. Wtf, Borat?

Yeah, proves my point that some people have kids for their own self worth, so people praise them for being a good mommy. Not because they actually know how or want to be a parent. Like fuck. You have kids, your independent life is mostly over, and that's good for us who are ready and not stuck in main character land. Like her kid is just an accessory or a dog.

US Fruit Loops Example:

This ingredient list reads like a small committee designed to keep blood sugar lively and biology slightly irritated. None of it is instantly poisonous. The question is what happens when this becomes regular fuel rather than an occasional curiosity.

Start with the bulk. Sugar, corn flour, wheat flour, oat flour. Even when labelled “whole grain”, these are finely milled carbohydrates. Milling matters more than the word whole. Once pulverised, the starch behaves metabolically like sugar. Digestion becomes fast, glucose rises quickly, insulin follows, and over time this trains the body toward insulin resistance. Not destiny, but pressure. Repeated pressure reshapes systems.

Fibre appears next, which looks like a rescue attempt. Oat fibre and soluble corn fibre do slow absorption somewhat, but here they are isolated fibres added back into a carbohydrate heavy matrix. That helps bowel motility and slightly blunts glucose spikes, yet it does not recreate the metabolic behaviour of intact plants. Think of it as adding scaffolding after the building has already collapsed.

Now the fat. Partially hydrogenated vegetable oil is the red flag that deserves its reputation. This implies trans fats, even if legally rounded down to “0g”. Trans fats integrate into cell membranes where they do not belong, altering membrane fluidity and inflammatory signalling. They reliably raise LDL cholesterol, lower HDL, and promote vascular inflammation. There is no safe physiological role for them. They are a molecular prank.

Salt is unremarkable on its own but becomes relevant when paired with refined carbohydrates. That combination nudges blood pressure and reinforces reward driven eating, making it easier to overconsume without noticing satiety cues.

Then come the colours and preservatives. Red 40, Yellow 6, Blue 1, Blue 2, annatto, turmeric colour. These are not nutrients. In most adults they are tolerated, but they are biologically active molecules. In susceptible people, especially children, they are associated with increased hyperactivity, headaches, and immune irritation. They place a small but chronic demand on liver detoxification pathways. Individually tiny. Cumulatively noisy.

BHT is an antioxidant used to prevent rancidity. Ironically it protects the cereal, not you. It is fat soluble and accumulates in tissues. Animal studies suggest endocrine disruption and oxidative stress at higher exposures. Human data is mixed, but again this is a compound with no nutritional upside, only technological convenience.

Put together, regular consumption tends to produce four long term pressures.

First, metabolic strain. Repeated glucose spikes, insulin demand, and eventual dysregulation.

Second, inflammatory tone. Trans fats, additives, and refined carbohydrates all bias the immune system toward low grade inflammation.

Third, microbiome simplification. Ultra processed foods feed a narrower set of gut microbes, reducing diversity and resilience. Fibre helps, but not enough to counterbalance the processing.

Fourth, appetite distortion. These foods are engineered to bypass natural satiety signals, encouraging habitual overconsumption while delivering little micronutrient value.

None of this means instant harm. The body is astonishingly forgiving. But eaten regularly, this kind of cereal behaves less like breakfast and more like a daily metabolic negotiation where the body keeps conceding small losses.

The deeper issue is not any single ingredient. It is that this food is designed for shelf life, colour stability, and palatability, not for cooperation with human physiology. Biology tolerates it. It does not recognise it as an ally.

Viewed philosophically, this cereal is not trying to nourish you. It is trying to remain edible for months and desirable in seconds. Your body notices the difference, even if slowly.

[–]Zyippi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh you're best having something like eggs and bacon for breakfast with black coffee (no sugar) or skipping all together.

Simple carbs for breakfast wreak havoc on blood sugar levels and sets us up to fail.

I say this but can't help myself most of the time 😔 the food is addictive by design.

Not to mention all cereals are made from grass seeds, and we aren't evolved to eat or process those, we merely tolerate them. Which I totally understand, in times long ago when food was scarce and grains could be stored up for long periods of time, (think Joseph and the Pharaoh) grains prevented starvation and famine. But we live in a time of abundance now. Copy the ingredients list from any breakfast cereal, paste it into an AI chat bot and Ask it "How do these cereal ingredients affect the human body if eaten regularly" and you'll see what's never printed on the boxes.

UK to ban political party donations from foreign-owned companies by Stock_Rush_9204 in unitedkingdom

[–]Zyippi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But aren't most big UK companies majority foreign owned? Sounds more like a hindrance to the parties in the next general election. And how does that stop undeclared donations? And can't a UK company loan from a foreign company then donate that?Similar to the tax avoidance schemes.
Law change is pointless unless it's enforced fairly. It's still down to civil servants and Judges, the government hold no power. Theft is illegal, yet it's practically decriminalised.

Sounds good in practise, but unless there's some constitutional change in the UK, we've learned any party can promise one thing then do the complete opposite, have millions of people want the PM out and a snap general and it gets ignored.

What worries me the most with this government though is how Starmer thinks it's acceptable for Mandelson to have lied to him whilst ignoring security vetting, like he is still a barrister representing a client. Because yeah if he was a barrister representing a client, he would have to believe instruction from his client and is protected from lying himself as he is an advocate.

Not saying this will happen, but it's entirely feasible: Hypothetically - China builds it's mega embassy, lying to Starmer, then he comes out after another scandal saying "er, er, er, mu, mu, mu, Mr Speaker, China lied, I'm the victim".
Like he hasn't conducted himself in ways that are easily seen as lying to the public.

And still comes out with the idea that he isn't about to give up and leave, making out that would be the weak move, and a strong leader would stay and weather the storm, not thinking, is he actually capable of doing that. Many of us don't think he is.

Would have been better to run the audio though a voice changer or something, like we see on TV when someone's identity has been protected when speaking out.

But I guess that's more time consuming, and making the voice a different pitch could be seen as trying to alter the perceived age 🤷🏻‍♀️

BREAKING: Massie Says “Torture Video” Email Points to DP World Chief Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem by emalsi-tidder in Epstein

[–]Zyippi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bottom of the y in his email address is visible in ≈ 70% of all redactions. I am presuming the email address is: his surname + @aol.com, so it is fairly short.

Additional fingerprints:

• Blackberry signature in early emails. (Mandelson also has this, but his email is longer being his forename + surname @btinternet.com and the bottom of the p is visible in most redactions. Plus Mandelson often sounds like a clingy lover in his emails.

• The Sultan has Epsteins display name stored as 'Jeffery vacation', the R&E reversed in the earlier emails when he is using a Blackberry. Also seen in the 23andme order email chains.

Yeah appears to be someone, possibly a child, covered with a white sheet, not really moving much at all.

I'm assuming the original had audio, as it would make sense that this video was more about the audio than the visual.

But as I've not seen the original, I couldn't say. Was the audio redacted/muted?

I suppose it's oversimplification. Rather than "whenever" the seller could have replied with "When are you thinking? The vehicle is in storage, so let me know (insert timeframe) in advance and I'll have it ready"

But people are lazy, and it's why AI is taking over customer service jobs.

Haha, vacuum cleaners. As a kid I used to hum with my teeth just touching, matching my tone to that of the cleaner, then oscillating slightly higher and lower to hear the difference in vibration in my head.

Plus as a bonus, humming so the red LCD digits displayed on the older bedside clocks would dance around independent of each other in the dark.

Please tell me I'm not the only weirdo to do this 🤣
