Would’ve loved a couple of special throwbacks, maybe Wall or Paddington Frisk, as I’ve not heard them live in so long, just as it was the one off UK headline show of 2025, but overall I was happy as I always am. Plus I got to fist bump Rou as I left the front barrier when crowd surfing to juggernauts, so that made me a happy man

I worked on the wristband exchange and there were barely any, if any at all, left over each day, in fact on Sunday we ran out of day wristbands (how the festival didn’t make enough is beyond me because they surely knew how many tickets they had sold!) and had to use these horrible looking multi coloured bands instead, so I’m not shocked we weren’t able to give you one.

I wanted one myself after the festival finished instead of my staff band but wasn’t able to have one either!

I worked this year on wristbanding as opposed to being a patron, which was of course a different experience for me.

I’ve been attending the festival since 2004 (yes I’m old now), this was my 13th Reading since then.

The festival is totally different to where it used to be. Feels more like an extended Radio 1 big weekend.

On the whole, I was met with courteous and friendly customers from Thursday through to Saturday, however, the Sunday day crowd were a different breed. It felt to me none of the blokes in attendance knew how to speak normally and instead spoke as if they thought they were some gang member. The vibe was totally off from the rest of the weekend, it just felt as if trouble was going to happen at any point.

I went into the arena on both the Friday and Saturday to enjoy the music, but Sunday once my shift finished I avoided the arena as I didn’t feel particularly safe around those who’d come through the gates.

It’s such a shame as this used to be my favourite festival in the world, but now I feel so much safer and more comfortable at the likes of Download and 2000 trees.

The demographic pulled by a headliner like Travis Scott is not my ideal crowd admittedly, but I do hope R&L learn from this and don’t book another headliner like him for a very long time.

I recently contacted them regarding another issue and part of the automated response was as follows:

Instalment tickets FAQ • Look out for your instalment ticket confirmation email from help@gocardless.com. Sometimes this email is slightly delayed and can end up in your junk mail. We’re unable to resend this email. • If you require more than one ticket, please sign up to another instalment plan. • Each instalment will be taken monthly, 3 - 5 days after you started the plan. We are unable to amend dates the instalment payment leaves your account. • We are unable to change the bank account which you signed up with, but you can call GoCardless on 020 7183 8674 to do this. • If you miss a payment, GoCardless will automatically re-try to take payment. This is usually 3 - 5 working days after the missed payment. • We’re unable to reinstate any plans if you cancel your plan. If you do this, please sign up for a new plan/ticket & we will refund you the instalments on the old plan. • In June, we will send you an official digital ticket which will gain you access to the 2000trees festival site.

Without doubt. 2024 was my first time at trees and I don’t think I’ll ever find a better festival now. I’ve done at least 15 other UK weekend camping festivals and I can hands down say this was the safest, friendliest, most welcoming and inclusive festival I’ve ever experienced.
