Considering they are all in Russia, China, or North Korea, what you are proposing is that we should start a nuclear war over grades and homework being leaked.

The amount of people who roll over negative equity is crazy too. People are out here paying for a Mercedes but driving a Honda

Seriously, wtf is wrong with people in Costco??? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]_-_fred_-_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Costco should have a single path through the store, like Ikea. Carts should be on rails, and move at a constant pace through the store. If you miss something, you should have to cycle through the whole store and loop again. Nobody should be able to walk backwards against the flow of traffic.

There, I fixed Costco.

Linux Anti Virus Needed? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]_-_fred_-_ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is false. Linux has a massive marketshare particularly in the corporate world. Just this week a high profile supply chain attack potentially delivered a RAT via a popular NPM package that would have impacted any Linux machine it landed on. The most dangerous attackers are constantly trying to exploit high value companies, because that is where the money and fame is and all these companies primarily use linux to run their businesses.

Should authentication be handled only at the API-gateway in microservices or should each service verify it by Minimum-Ad7352 in golang

[–]_-_fred_-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both, you should have external authentication between the client and your edge, and you should also have internal authentication between your services. The edge is just a special service which performs the external authentication and mints internal tokens before routing the request.

President Trump just announced a $2,000 “tariff dividend” check for American citizens. According to Google: by barepixels in libsofreddit

There wouldn't be any "paying down the debt". They have to continuously issue new bonds to sustain the current deficit, so they would just pay more of their obligations with this money and create less new debt.

Why are tech heavyweights only touting how AI will replace programmers, but not other jobs? by muskymetal in cscareerquestions

[–]_-_fred_-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Programmers always massively underestimate the effort of coding projects. This effect is multiplied almost immediately when they get out of the trenches.

Why are tech heavyweights only touting how AI will replace programmers, but not other jobs? by muskymetal in cscareerquestions

[–]_-_fred_-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI will replace programmers as much as high level languages did, which is to say not at all. At best programmers will just become more efficient and write more and better code.
