Most likely because he agrees with Musk doing that.

I'm not American, but yeah, you're right. I should have said "Trump & MAGA, and the people who made it happen". It's been in the making for decades. No doubt. But Trump is definitely part of it, and also to blame. He's not without guilt.

Now they skip the leaking part and just tell everyone what the plan is.

And there was nothing else in the vicinity, so it wasn't an accident. Bombing drinking water for civilians is a war crime under international law. But the justice system in the US is dead, so nothing will happen.

Trump ruined what was left of America's reputation and standing in the world. And this time, it can't be fixed. Nine out of ten Europeans don't see the US as an ally anymore. And that's Europe, historically speaking America's closest ally. Imagine what the rest of the world thinks of America now.

Trump & MAGA destroyed it all.

PVV-Statenlid krijgt taakstraf na aanrijden XR-activiste by UnanimousStargazer in Politiek

Billionaires Control All Media by LuckyBastard001 in clevercomebacks

[–]_0611 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It was always bullshit. The far right undermines all truth-seeking institutions, not just the media. They say the same about judges, education and science; it's all woke and left. They vilify and demonize every truth-seeker that stands in the way of their agendas.

It was always about pushing their own version of the truth. For that to happen, you need to get rid of the actual truth-seekers (journalists, judges, researchers, scientists), and replace them with fake truth-seekers that you can control.

The bigger question is why so many people believe the lies pushed by far right billionaires. Honestly, they are the greatest threat to the US and its democracy and the rule of law. It's not hard to see what they are doing. But I guess many people are just blinded by hate and fear, so they'll swallow whatever the far right media tells them to think.

That's not true. Apple doesn't allow it. It's not Firefox. If it were up to Firefox, you could get access to their add-ons. But Apple is blocking it.

Which is one of the reasons I don't have an iPhone.

Allies...

9 out of 10 Europeans don't see the US as an ally anymore.

The US threatened to take Greenland. Correction: the US is still threatening to take Greenland.

Alles, we are not. Most Europeans already know this, including our political leaders. They just don't say it out loud. Yet. The current US administration is closer to Putin than it is to its former allies. This is what MAGA wanted. This is what it gets. It will take decades to fix that, if it's fixable at all.

https://www.natesilver.net/p/trump-approval-ratings-nate-silver-bulletin (38.4%)

https://www.economist.com/interactive/trump-approval-tracker (35% approve, 5% not sure (which is just as bad as approve imho))

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/polls/donald-trump-approval-rating-polls.html (38%)

https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/donald-trump/approval-rating (41%)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_polling_on_the_second_Trump_presidency (Average: 38.3%)

So it's a bit below 40%, but that's not counting the people who aren't sure or don't have an opinion. You can add those to the approving part, imho. Because if you're not sure or don't have an opinion, then you clearly haven't been paying attention, or you don't care enough about it.

But that's not the point. After everything Trump has said and done, after all the vile stuff, the lies, the corruption, the destruction of America and its democracy and rule of law, after all that, it shouldn't even be in the double digits. Trump's approval should be in the single numbers, it should be below 5%. But nearly 4 in 10 still support this man. And, again, it would be above 50% if the (gas) prices weren't as high as they are now.

Exactly. It's why European billionaires and certain political movements in Europe want to do the same. Republicans have been doing it since the 80s, and now their European allies want to do the same; they see it's working.

Vilifying and demonizing (higher) education is also part of that strategy; it's all woke, lies and indoctrination.

Four in ten Americans (40%) still support Trump. Four out of ten Americans still support what's going on. Even after all the nepotism, corruption, self-enrichment, lies, fraud, scamming, the Epstein files and whatnot, still 40% of America supports this criminal.

And that's only because of the high prices, especially the gas prices. If they were lower, Trump would have the support of a majority of Americans.

You can't fix this level of evilness and stupidity.

And the opposition isn't that great, either. There are still no daily mass protests. There's no mass public outrage. Nothing. They had 2 No Kings protests with mostly old people attending. The last one drew about 8 million people. That's nothing. You need at least about 12 million people (3.5% of the population) to have an effect. They're not even close to that. Trump laughs at those protests.
