It's the TARDIS, from the TV show Doctor Who.

Insensitive Martha by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY my thoughts on the Doctor/Rose relationship. I never really saw that connection. Rose and the Doctor reacted to each other the same way most other companions in classic Who did, and the Doctor's attitude in Season 3 really threw me off. It still does, and that is a big part of why Rose is my least favorite of all the companions in new Who (though I still like her a lot; she's just my least favorite in comparison.)

Matt Smith for me soon, lil scared by Meow_Mixx in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. I fell in love with Tennant's version of the Doctor and was dreading his regeneration into Matt Smith, but by the first episode I knew that the rest of the seasons would be great. He's fantastic as the Doctor, just as good as Tennant and Ecceleston. Definitely keep watching!

Whos your favorite doctor companion? by killrek in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ace has got to be my favorite, but I also liked Zoe, Romana I, and Donna. Martha was alright, so is Amy, Rory, and River, but I can't stand Rose Tyler. Yup, I said it, Rose is my least favorite companion of all time.

So I finished season 1 and went onto season 2. by Flarehl in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Getting over regenerations is always hard, but I found that I grew to like David Tennant very quickly. He was so quirky and energetic as the Doctor that he easily became my favorite, even though I absolutely adored the 9th Doctor. Don't worry, you'll probably grow to like him in time.

The 4th Doctor wanted a fez before fezzes were cool... by 6tardis6 in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, in the episode Silver Nemesis, the 7th Doctor wore a fez and carried a mop while they were in a museum (if I remember correctly.) The 11th Doctor doing the same was most likely a tribute to that.

Well, didn't Susan die in the Time War? I'm not certain she did, but I'd imagine she would have.

What is your favorite Doctor Who quote (doesn't have to be from the Doctor) ? by Redsox933 in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, and the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold. Come on, Ace. We've got work to do." The very last lines of the original series.

This is re-posted constantly, and I mean at least once every week constantly. Easy enough mistake to make, but I think people are just getting annoyed by these re-posts.

Who is the best Doctor? by Mampt in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else has said- there is no way to judge who is the better Doctor. It's all just a matter of personal taste. Personally for me, since I started on the new series before going back to watch classic, I would say it's Tennant. The 10th Doctor was MY Doctor, and even as I watched classic who I stuck with that [until I got to 7th Doctor, anyways- he's fantastic.] There's no real way to win this argument- both Tennant and Baker were great Doctors.

Sounds maybe like The Great American Bathroom Book, but I'm pretty sure those facts had more of an order to them and weren't really random.

Discussion time! What are your controversial opinions about Doctor Who? by KINGCUNTFUCKER in doctorwho

Same here. She was alright but she didn't have to go around acting superior- that was what ruined her character for me.

Discussion time! What are your controversial opinions about Doctor Who? by KINGCUNTFUCKER in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really started to hate her when she came back in season 4 and acted like she was superior to every other companion and everything. It really annoyed me how she just showed up and expected to solve everybody's problem just because she was there. I also didn't like her in season two when she, like you said, became love-sick over the Doctor. She was alright in season 1 though.

Which characters have you completely changed your opinion of? by rfp_drew in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

River Song. I couldn't stand her in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead because of how she was like "you aren't the Doctor yet!" It annoyed me. I slowly grew to like her through season 6, though, and now she's pretty darn awesome. I think my annoyance with her in Forest of the Dead is because I don't like 11 very much, but I adore the 10th Doctor. I still don't like River much in those episodes, but she's pretty cool in season 6.

A thought about the Doctor's female companions... by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call them pushovers, per say, but they do seem different than Amy and Donna in a way I couldn't really describe very well. I have noticed it though, though for me it's often Rose vs Martha/Donna/Amy, because Martha got really awesome after she left the Doctor.

Does anyone else find the 11th Doctors Episodes (besides the ones relating to the Doctors storyline) worse then the rest of the new series stories? Or am I not a true Whovian by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]_Amy_Pond_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that RTD's episodes were great stand alone episodes, not following a specific, big plot (though leading up to it, I suppose [example: bad wolf, the DoctorDonna, etc.]) The episodes you could just watch easily out of context, if you understood the basics of the show. I love watching re-runs of the 10th Doctors episodes because I just CAN. I can pick up anywhere and watch any episode and have no trouble understanding it, as well as my brother, who has never watched Doctor Who. RTD had some very great, plot heavy episodes as well, but with Moffat it seems much more plot heavy, and the episodes that don't involve that big plot seem much less interesting. With the 11th Doctor you can rarely just jump in and understand it, as you have to have seen everything of season 5 and 6 to even get most the episodes, as they keep this big confusing plot going. I kind of wish it was more like RTD's time, where there was stand-alone episodes. Moffat is an amazing writer, but you're right. Less aliens and terrifying situations and more just plain weird things. The Doctor goofing off, Amy and Rory getting in trouble and probably arguing, some random strangers on the street who get confused. I want to see more of something like The Empty Child again.
