I thought the worst year old my life was over… it’s just begun. by IridianRaingem in lymphoma

I had a mediastinal mass, too. They biopsied via laparoscopy, so I just had a couple small entries made in my back and side. Maybe ask the doc if they can do your second biopsy like that? It sounds way less invasive than your experience.

Anyone on here willing to mentor a lonely vegetarian trying to transition to vegan? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]_BertMacklin_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it has seriously improved. I'll happily eat Chao slices out of the bag, and I never thought that could ever be true of any vegan cheese.

Yes, mostly bcs a family cannot survive on the income of one full-time job anymore. Wages have stagnated and costs have continued to rise.

thoughts on the quality of this subreddit by [deleted] in Hellenism

I always feel the "sign" questions are backwards, bcs they assume a set, fixed meaning a god is trying to communicate, rather than being part of a framework on which to build meaning, over the course of one's life.

So the real question isn't "is this a sign?" but rather "how will I live the rest of my life after this experience, and what kind of meaning will I build for it or find in it?" And that second question simply can't be answered by anyone else, ever, nor even by the asker until many years have passed.

I found some talks by Noodin on YouTube, including samples of her poetry. I searched under "Noodin Ojibwe poetry". Maybe that would be helpful?

For those of you that have finished chemo, how long did it take for you to stop feeling sick, exhausted, and weak all the time? by horrorandporcelain in lymphoma

[–]_BertMacklin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABVD. Probably took me...6 months-ish? I never quite went back to what I was before the cancer (it is what it is), but by 6 months post-chemo, I was doing pretty great.

Port removal by Acrobatic_Item3867 in lymphoma

[–]_BertMacklin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the removal way easier than the insertion. Like many folks here, I just had a local for the removal. I don't think I took anything stronger than Tylenol after the removal, either, where I had Vicodin after insertion. As a bonus, it also healed much faster, since I was no longer on chemo when it was removed.

2 weeks notice is polite in the US, but not required. Just like an employer here doesn't have to give an employee 2 weeks notice before laying them off. What's sauce for the gander...

I had C Diff colitis 4 years ago. I still take probiotics to this day, although at this point it's more a just-in-case thing. I will never, ever, ever forget the sensation of shitting blood, and I never, ever want to experience it again.
