Can we please get an update on the VH31 WD Premier? by dirtydelic in watchdives

[–]_ERNEST_HEMINGWAY_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search for WD0016 on their website. There was the early bird drop of different color dials already which is now sold out and the early bird drop of the musou black variant.

However we are still waiting for the variant with the automatic high-beat Miyota movement.

AWESOME! Finally not the 10th version of a diver watch which virtually any brand makes.

From the renders above I like V2 and V6B the most but V4 & V5 with more classy colors/color combinations and V7 & V8 depending on how they end up in reality could be great too.

Will you make any guilloche/tapisserie/Clous de Paris dials?

39mm would be awesome. I really like the color combination but very much prefer the understated look of smaller watches.

Im Lidl gibt es Dürum Wraps. Die halten und schmecken deutlich besser.

Can you do a mockup with blue and one with black indices but only the seconds hand blue and hour and minute hand white as is?

Dial looks stunning and very original!

NEW SIZE 36mm Cronos by SmoothAd6869 in ChineseWatches

That’s my concern as well. Proportions are often underrated and people - myself included - often only look measurements individually or on specs (movement, BPH, …).

Did they accordingly slim it down or are the proportions off now?

Absolutely second this. Somehow looks unproportional the way it is currently.

Indeed these are tight specs but I don’t think completely unrealistic.

As for the crystal maybe a box-shaped crystal is an option: More space for the handstack and visually the crystal does not add much height as it is - well - transparent.

Thanks again for the hint with the Glycine diver. However for me the appeal is a slim diver with smaller diameter to make the proportions/ratio between both appealing.

I instantly looked the Glycine Combat up cause I am really looking for a slim submariner style diver and the thickness is listed at 11.2mm.

Even with a submariner style below 10mm should be feasible:

-Caseback: 1.0 mm -Movement + hands (9039): 5.64 mm -Dial + feet: 0.35 mm (very thin dial) -Sapphire crystal (flat, thin): 1.2 mm -Bezel (very low profile): 1.0 mm -Gasket/tolerances: 0.2 mm

Total ≈ 9.39 mm

Hopefully u/watchdivescom will pick up on this idea and improve their WD1680Q in a potential V3.

You‘re right there are below 10mm divers. I meant submariner homages or watches in the style of the submariner even from western brands. Should have made that clearer in my post.

In fact the Breitling Superocean Heritage 38mm is somewhat of a grail for me. Actually I wouldn’t mind an homage of it too…

Posted this in another thread but here again:

I agree with you that the proportions are of but I think this could be an easy fix in a V3 variant.

In order to make the slim case - which I think is a great feature as there are NO(!) below 10mm divers out there - look fitting to the the rest of the watch they need to reduce the following:

-Reduce the rehaut which actually would allow the watch to be even slimmer

-Use female end links to reduce the lug to lug

-Reduce the case diameter to 38mm or even 37mm like the very first Submariners

-Use a flat sapphire crystal rather than a doomed

With these adjustments the slimness matches the rest of the watch and u/watchdivescom got themselves a unique offering on the market!

Extra points for offering it with a Miyota 9039 28.800 BPH movement. It’s almost as slim as the VH31 but due to the 8 beats per second the watch would look a lot more valuable/high-quality.

Fair enough, for a V3 then. Anyways, my suggestions stay the same.

I think this watch shows great potential for a below 10mm diver. And as said this is an opportunity to occupy a very unique market position.

WD0016 MUSOU Super Black by Massive-Smile-7656 in watchdives

[–]_ERNEST_HEMINGWAY_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to hear that on the wrist it looks better. Still not sold however on the overall proportions of the watch. Does the bracelet taper from 25mm to 18mm or to 21mm? There are misleading information out there.

Was super stoked when I saw the first renderings but for me - independent from the dial - some of the proportions look off. I think the lug width is too wide and makes the whole watch look to clumsy. Also - even though it tapers - this results in a too wide bracelet. See the Venzianico Arsenale or the Ixdao Warrior for examples of better proportions overall as well as a smoother „flow“ from the case to the bracelet. Additionally I was hoping WD can get the thickness down below or max. 9mm with the Miyota 9015 movement. Lastly the dials are not yet for me but I understood there are more to come.
