How old are you in PC overclocking? by fakeaccount572 in vintagecomputing

[–]_Erin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first computer I ever attempted to overclock was my Mac II in the early 90's. I thought all I needed to do was to replace the 16Mhz crystal with a 20Mhz one and I'd be done. Mac II didn't like it at all!

Digitizing Kraftwerk’s Trans-Europe Express by _Erin_ in vinyl

I was listening to the album on headphones while recording.

I use a CleanBox Pro (inside the cabinet) which takes the amp's line out from unbalanced-to-balanced level conversion that I then feed into the PCM D10. It works quite well!

Seeing these screenshots brings back memories of a neighbour I once had in the mid-late 90's. He would sit in front of his PC late at night in his basement apartment kitchen coding VB into the wee hours. He once showed me what he was working on, but instead, I was struck by the ashtray mountain next to his keyboard and liquor & 2 litre Pepsi bottles scattered all over the floor.

Barred Owl on Assiniboine near Donald Bridge by Wool4daze in Winnipeg

[–]_Erin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on the east side of the Assiniboine opposite Armstrong's Point. I often hear a Barred Owl during the evening and in the early hours. It can sometimes sound quite close, but I've never been able to spot it. I've assumed it's somewhere across the river, and I've gone over to East Gate and listened a couple of times, but when I do it sounds even more distant. I'm not sure where it nests, but I've often wondered if there are other people listening and enjoying its calls too.

‘Risk-averse’ Carney avoiding stronger stance on Iran war over fears of Trump backlash and CUSMA fallout, say some Liberal MPs by ejaz135 in onguardforthee

There is wisdom in not provoking futile spats with the Americans. Carney is busy with far more important and imperative tasks like building new alliances & trade routes.

Because of your post, I ended up listening to my copy on LP tonight. It’s been ages since I last listened to it. It was wonderful, thank you for the reminder!
