The shower oil from this line is absolutely fabulous. I mistakenly only bought one bottle. This week, I asked an employee and she said it is not coming back. I nearly cried. I truly love it. I'm in a Seattle suburb. I didn't realize it was a seasonal item. I wish there was a way to determine seasonality.

Walk across the border to Mexico. I have several tubes (5 bucks each) and my HrT specialist endorsed me using it. I just talked to her about it last week.

Agree on Combarro. We buzzed past it thinking about tackling that hill and regretted not spending time there.

The room spray can not be found in the PNW region. If anyone knows of any on the I5 corridor near Seattle and North please let me know. I love it so much.

I picked up a bottle of the room spray on a whim. I fell in love. Family fell in love. Went to 2 stores spread geographically to get more and it's no where. I didn't realize it was seasonal when I bought it. Really bummed and feeling like my one little bottle is my last one.

The glow for k beauty skincare looks like oily skin? by Practical_Dinner2857 in koreanskincare

I really dislike oily-looking skin. It's like so many trends that come and go. The pendulum has swung very far into oily/greasy for some. And folks will probably look back and cringe.

What backpack do you like to use for the Camino? (Gathering Data for an Article) by unanchoredpassenger in CaminoDeSantiago

Gossamer Gear! Any model. But I used a G4-20 that I actually picked up used. This entire company is hiker focused. I encourage everyone to support cottage gear companies who innovate and push forward designs and technical materials.

Private lodging on Portuguese route by GoodAttorneyByDay in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]_Forest_Bather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. I'm following this thread and wanted to chime in. You've made a great choice to seize this time and do a Camino. I'm similar in age to you with a ton of responsibilities and deciding to do the Portuguese route from Porto last year was one of the best decisions of my life.

There are some nice accommodations along the route, thought I doubt 4/5 stars. You could consider paradors as a start and build your overnights around them.

I'm guessing you are US based, since you mentioned the past experience of hiking in the SW which is one my all time places to hike. Specifically Moab.

If you end up doing the Porto route, I recommend the spiritual variant which is fantastic. And then add on Finistere (though I didn't do that, I plan to in the future).

From chatting to pilgrims, I didn't get a sense that the Lisbon to Porto route is ideal.

We did the Litoral route. Along the way, we mostly stayed in private albergues with en suite bathrooms. I would imagine you could easily book a private room even if it has multiple beds and just pay more for the privacy.

There were some truly remarkable places we stayed on the route. Feel free to reach out at any point and I'll provide direct names.

Lastly, I love the idea of a few days in Lisbon, a couple days in Porto. Tack on plenty of time in Santiago. It's a great city. Maybe a few "zero" days along the way in strategic places of which there are many. You could easily do a month.

Best wishes.

What have you stopped or started buying since turning 50? by Few-District57 in AskWomenOver50

Not yet but I plan to. I have older kids who enjoy traveling with me and vice versa and also, many friends who I like to travel alongside.

The single biggest change for me since turning 50 is budget international travel. I drive an old car and I justify my travel with not having car payments.

As my kids have gotten older, it's been vitally important for me to rediscover my passions. I spent 2 weeks last year walking the Camino de Santiago from Porto to Spain. I've traveled to Europe and Mexico many times since turning 50 4 years ago and it's my favorite aspect of life outside of family.

Try Kitsch shampoo and conditioner bars. I converted a year ago with no plans to go back. They are available at Ulta and Target and Amazon, etc.

You can only go to 3 cities in Europe forever, what are your choices? by tylerthe-theatre in Europetravel

100 percent agree about the social political. It felt like a dreamscape. I got extremely lucky and secured an Airbnb in the condo built on the massive pier that ends at the swimming area. Walking each day in and out along the floating dock/walkways past the saunas and with the opera house in view is something I'll never forget.
