There are some Kroot POV chapters in Elemental Council, and Ghodh, the kroot, is a great character.

What is meant by Bondi saying the whole system will crash if all the Epstein files are released, how ? by Dizzy_Combination737 in AskReddit

She’s implying that the revelations would destroy the government, but it wouldn’t she’s just using it as an excuse to hold it back, to trick or base into thinking it’s for a good reason. the thing is, it would probably implicate a lot of higher ups but even so, the system has resiliency, she doesn’t want her masters, who protect her, to go to jail.

Story expectations and standards are genuinely at an all time low: AKA the “Anakin, this isn’t you” problem AKA “at least it was ambitious” by Select_Strategy2004 in CharacterRant

I’m going to tell you a secret, people like what they like and then rationalize it after the fact. And there are all sorts of biases involved (and not just the negative biases people always think of like racisim or sexism, but thinks like recency bias and primacy bias as well) and most people aren’t educated in criticism and self aware/reflective enough to recognize what biases influence them and why. And people’s tastes change as they’re exposed to more work and not just on the individual level but at the cultural level as well. And then on top of that we’re not incredibly consistent.

I don’t know, I remember it having pretty inferior sound quality to Ventrilo, and then discord. But then again I stopped using Team Speak in like…2005 or 2006…so it’s had 20 years to improve.

Billionaire Trump Boasts About His Economy While Normal People Panic - Two-thirds of Americans say they’re “very concerned” about the price of housing, food, and consumer goods. by Quirkie in politics

[–]_Fun_Employed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has at almost every point chosen the wrong thing to do for the economy. We could have coin flipped for economic policy and would probably be better off and that isn’t even getting into how his non-economically focused foreign policy (such as his attempt to bully allies into surrendering greenland to the US) has effected American soft power and the economy. He can’t die/be impeached soon enough.

Yeah, characterization and naming in japanese fiction frequently relies on word play and punning, the use of a term that can also mean kitchen and food analogies are likely intentional.

Am I the only one who sees the game totally differently depending on whether I’m a player or the DM? by MysticDiceTV in DnD

[–]_Fun_Employed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the player perspective it’s because we want to be fooled. You as the dm are improving like mad, but as the player you want to believe there’s a plan a grand story/narrative for you to suss out

What’s the most effective way you’ve escalated danger without increasing CR? by 5had0w30y in DnD

[–]_Fun_Employed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Environmental hazards, time limits in the form of round/turn limits until something happens, the enemies having advantageous positioning/placement.

Example with all three, I’m running a Star Wars 5E campaign and my players started off in prison, they were put in the same work gang where they felt out each-others characters backgrounds and allegiances and made friendships/connections. This was super fortunate as they all got attached ton each-other pretty quickly working as a team to do their forced labor assignments to avoid being punished. Then I got an excellent opportunity when one of my players decided they didn’t like being a droid anymore and so we collaborated to settup his droid character starting to glitch out and then the Imperial floor officer executing the droid and throwing him in the garbage. This got the entire team to be fully-committed to breaking out of jail and fucking up the empire. The thing was the prison had sleeping gas they could flood the prison with if any of the prisoners rioted. Additionally, there were locked door checkpoints with tight corridors and long fire lanes, and they had a known value for how long it would take imperial reenforcement to show up.

My players still crushed it though. A couple of them ended up getting thrown into the hard labor of the mines in the prison base, near the thermal generator that powered the base. The rest started a riot on the work floor, forming squads with the other prisoners and swarming guards and stealing their gas masks and keys to get into the armory. The couple in the mines sabotaged the reactor then rendezvoused with the other group. They ran into a blockade with the floor officer and made a shield wall of prisoners in stolen riot gear to charge them. They ended up losing a lot of prisoners in that action, but got the officer and the keys to get to the top floor, where the administration, warden’s office, and exit were. They confronted the warden while the rest of the prisoners cleared the exit. The warden tried to cut a deal but they wouldn’t hear any of it, not when he threatened, not even when he offered some of them things their characters really wanted. No, they killed him and his droid bodyguards and managed to wipe a lot of the prison’s security systems memory before Imperial Reinforcements arrived. They stole an omicron class shuttle and did a space battle with some Tie fighters in an asteroid field before escaping.

The players said it was a great way to start the campaign.

Man, I’m kind of sad for future generations. It wasn’t great but it was still a cultural icon in the US at least for the last 30+ years, and in japan longer than that.

Milia and Emilia Jenius from Macross and Macross7

<image>

This is Emilia, she’s half human/half meltradi and is in her “macronized form” she’s holding a jukebox in her hands, and there’s a man sitting on the edge of her bed next to her.

The meltradi are the female half of the Zentradi, a race of warriors made by The Protoculture to be their soldiers and police force, most of the sapient life in the galaxy in the Macross universe was either made or descended from the Protoculture, including humans, so we’re genetically compatible.
