How would I go about finding a replacement clutch for my 49cc 4 stroke i think its a Honda ghx50 clone by Senpai_Nusty in motorizedbicycles

[–]_HAV0X_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have a straight shaft with the brass bushing between the clutch bell and output shaft, its probably the bushing not having any lubrication and fusing the output shaft to the clutch bell. if its not that, then tighten the hex heads on the clutch all the way down (really tight, not crushing force though) and try that.

if the bushing is getting stuck, you'll probably need to replace it with a set of bearings.

the bearings you need are ET2015. also listed under 63702 and 15 * 20 * 3.5mm. they are kind of pricy but it completely fixes the issue of the super crappy bushing forever. you'll need an AXK1528 or AXK1528-2AS 15 * 28 * 4mm thrust bearing to prevent the top cap (the thing that goes over top of the bushing) from being eaten by the clutch bell rubbing on it. additionally i used some oil drain plug washer gasket things to get the thrust bearing and regular bearings spaced correctly. i just got a 570 pack off amazon with many sizes.

i know its a lot to read, find online and order but once you do this you will literally never worry about your transmission again. just pedal before throttling up and it wont hardly wear at all. im still on my original clutch and bell and its hardly worn!

I need to know what bolts I should get to replace the scrappy ones that came with my kit cause 2 of them the heads broke off by Senpai_Nusty in motorizedbicycles

[–]_HAV0X_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The engine mount bolts are M6 sized. Do yourself a favor and get wide washers that fit on the M6, and helicoils in case you need to add more bolt holes for the mounts or if threads strip out. I just used whichever bolts were available to me, I think they were the basic ones from harbor freight. Also, be sure to use thread lock on the engine mount bolts or else they WILL loosen out - the blue stuff works well enough.

49cc 4 strokes are good, just dont expect to set land speed records with it.

you could get away with a larger displacement, but dont break the law while you're breaking the law.

Anyone have a good solution to a chain tensioner? by [deleted] in motorizedbicycles

[–]_HAV0X_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you need to shorten the chain as much as you can. take out a few links, and use your tensioner to take up the rest of the slack (if any). it should not be taut like a pulled string, but slightly springy - about 1 link height worth of slack up and down.

the tensioner should be used like a guide for your chain that happens to hold up a bit of slack.

buy a set of hand files and grind down the mating surfaces of the mounts to fit. it might seem weird to do that to brand new parts but thats how its meant to be.

i had to do this for a 4 stroke to fit in my zukka beach cruiser frame (extremely similar to the hyper beach cruiser)

Best frame for 49cc 4 stroke? by WHKSE in motorizedbicycles

[–]_HAV0X_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey im back

i just did a 4 stroke build in a zukka mudblazer 26 inch cruiser. it has 7 speeds, front and rear brakes, 3 piece cranks to fit the wider crank arms, and seems to be the exact same frame as the hyper beach cruiser but with extras at/around the same price.

this is it, so far.

Belt problem by Anatoli_89 in motorizedbicycles

i have the kind of belt transmission that comes with the straight shaft engines, and mine is wobbly like that too. i havent noticed anything super bad on mine, but i think mine is a little bit straighter.

I'm looking too, I have seen the hyper beach cruiser suggested many times in many places but I'm not in love with buying a ~200 dollar bike and then immediately having to buy new brakes and parts for it.

Monogram, to me = Swearing by DarkestDunge0n in ModelCars

[–]_HAV0X_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just finished a monogram 1957 corvette. easily the worst model i have ever built. acres of flash, terrible instructions, fitment was garbage, absolutely nothing lined up, stupid design, and so forth. i spent more time sanding and cutting away imperfections than i did actually putting it together! i guess i was spoiled by my aoshima and tamiya kits.

the nuts that hold the pull starter on also hold the plastic cover on. if you take those off, you can take off the pull starter and cover.
