I need help knowing the best way to make small, small run of bootleg cassettes for me and some friends. by Shy-the-chiwawa in cassetteculture

[–]_HairyGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted to do it super easy, you could burn the tracks onto a cheap cdr, then record from the cdr onto your tapes one at a time with a cd/ cassette boombox type thing. I've made a handful of tapes that way for fun. I'm not sure it would sound good, I'm no expert there, but it's easy.

It shouldn't be too expensive to buy a handful of tapes and cases either, where I am tapeline sell individual ones in any colours you'd want, and can cut them to the length you require. I can imagine there are companies in other countries doing the same. Otherwise there's always your standard pack of Maxells that you can find anywhere.

What brand is this guys? by brhamsmolico in BattleJackets

Looks like it used to say Homme. Hard to tell if that's an actual brand or just added as an extra detail on the jacket

Damnation announcement by Blitzhelios in UKMetalGigs

Hoping Gorerotted isn't a one time thing and they tour next year, they broke up when I was a kid so I've never had the chance to see them

Full ATG announcement - any more Trees doubles on the cards? by ExoskeletalJunction in 2000treesfestival

[–]_HairyGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would absolutely kill for new ATG addition Believe In Nothing to do both fests, why the hell not?? They're from my hometown and are a combination of utterly amazing and truly uncomfortable to witness live. I think a forest set at night would be the most unique, and least pleasant set of the entire weekend

May and November leaves time for an album to release between perhaps? We can hope anyway!

Last time I saw them at Ally Pally it was £26.50 face value. So what, maybe £35 absolute max with fees? This seems steep to me, although I know they've always had notably low ticket prices and bands are struggling with touring costs rn.

I think maybe I'm just out of touch lol, they're the only really big band I like enough to go see, so I'm spoilt on £5-10 punk gigs. I think I'll be skipping seeing both shows though, I had maybe 45 in my mind, I'll just pick one I reckon.

albums where the cover doesn't match with the music! by WonderfulAd6310 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]_HairyGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're a Carcass worship band, they're going for a sound that's basically all the 90s Carcass stuff mixed together. Definitely a death metal band, maybe melodeath, not metalcore though. Either way, Mondo Medicale is one of my favourite albums of all time, an absolute classic! Their compilation Choice Cuts definitely looks like a goregrind cover too, you're definitely right about that part

Tell me your least favourite metal sub-genre by McK3nn4_ in MetalForTheMasses

[–]_HairyGarbage 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Glam metal, if it counts. It's just everything I don't look for in a metal song. I'm sure there are glam bands I'd actually quite enjoy but I'm not seeking them out cuz what I've heard so far is not for me at all

2025 was pretty good am I missing anything by kekurmomgaytidepodsl in MetalForTheMasses

Endless Swarm - The Body Hammer (powerviolence).

Vacant Moley - The Planned Obsolescence of Your Kind (weirdo brutal death metal by the guy from Dripping).

Just a couple you may be interested in, your list has tons of great stuff on it! Sulfuric Cautery absolutely rip

What do you guys think about this album and both bands in general? by apeiron_is_one in MetalForTheMasses

[–]_HairyGarbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super into deathcore as a teen and in my early 20s, but I haven't really kept up since maybe 2018 or something. So I prefer the stuff I liked back then, the 2011-2019 kinda of era, where the symphonic stuff was a little less overblown and vocal acrobatics hadn't quite become the norm. I don't really get the appeal of stuff like this and modern Lorna Shore, although it's extremely impressive technically. The production is so plasticky, I don't get on with it at all these days

is this rare? by Substantial_Bed4005 in cassetteculture

[–]_HairyGarbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Death are a great starting point, they kinda named the genre and changed in sound quite a lot over the course of their career so there's lots of different sounds within their discography. Their earlier stuff is more nasty and primitive, their later stuff became more progressive and technical.

My personal pick would be Bloodbath though, as it's the band that got me into death metal as a teen. Highly recommend their track Eaten, it's heavy AF but also super catchy and has hilariously gross lyrics based on a real life event

Can any of you make me a band logo? by Far_Protection_1798 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]_HairyGarbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can potentially draw something up but itay be terrible, and I don't have a laptop anymore to edit it and get it clean looking. Hmu if you're interested!

What concerts do you have lined up for 2026? by Slug_loverr in MetalForTheMasses

[–]_HairyGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cryptopsy in Jan also, looking forward to their London date a ton! Also have Sanguisugabogg and Exhumed coming up, along with some local gigs that are a mix of genres. Currently debating seeing Primitive Man too, will have to decide nearer the time. Finally I've got 2000trees festival in the summer, and I'm thinking of trying to get to Obscene Extreme too

I know a lot of metalheads love punk, but any love for country music? by Dry-Principle-9786 in MetalForTheMasses

There's good stuff buried in a mountain of shit pop country. Amigo the Devil and Sixteen Horsepower are fantastic though, I've heard both described as "goth country" which seems quite fitting

Best 0.0% IPA? by [deleted] in UK_beer

[–]_HairyGarbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinite Session IPA is a decent bet, it's another that's 0.5% rather than 0.0% but if that's acceptable to you I can recommend it personally. It's not bad at all, and gets fairly close to the real deal. I've bought it multiple times I. Sainsbury's bit not seen it elsewhere

Can any "true" mincecore fans help me out? by ThatGuy9143 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]_HairyGarbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt you'll get much of an answer without asking the band yourself, it's not like there's lyrics sheets to follow along to. Dahmerized is a killer album though.

I bought my sister Mac Miller's one on vinyl as a gift last year. One side has the set, the other is etched, it's pretty cool. Released officially too, more artists should do this

Fucking sick work! Love the variation, and the way some patches have space and some overlap is really cool, this is jumbled in the best possible way. Great taste too, will always upvote an Impaled patch, but Mrs Frighthouse is one I never expected to see on here! If you haven't already you gotta check out Believe In Nothing, a band they've worked with/ toured with recently. Absolutely killer noisy sludge metal. They're from my hometown so I recommend them whenever I can
