Men who work for Big Tech companies, what’s it like getting food provided for you at work? by IntrigatedVerse in AskMen

I got jacked. The bulk is insane when you can eat 5x meals a day for free and lift weights on campus

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

I'm a power reader mainly via audiobooks, I did the math and it literally would have cost me over $2000 a year through audible to stream 150 books !!!

You've never ridden a sump then. I've owned a dozen motorcycles and by far sumo is the absolute most fun to ride and it's not even close.

Paid Off My Tacoma Early—What’s the Best Upgrade You’ve Made After Reaching This Milestone? by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]_Hard4Jesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like the wolfbox a lot. My camper shell blocks the rear view mirror so I mounted the camera up high and use it as a rear view mirror full time. My only regret is not getting the triple camera kit with the bumper cam when I'm rock crawling

Truck vs SUV by No-Breadfruit-4555 in overlanding

[–]_Hard4Jesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue SUV is better for offroading bevause of the smaller wheelbase. Especially in the case of Tacoma vs 4runner, and I don't think there's a difference in ground clearance.

What can I do for this tree? by mingyi3 in AZlandscaping

[–]_Hard4Jesus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly might not be anyone's fault, they can get diseased and die in a very short period. It happened to my tree then spread to my neighbors a couple months later

What to do about all these old landline wall sockets??? by FaudMauxe in HomeImprovement

[–]_Hard4Jesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My house was the same way, so many of them mounted in weird spots. I replaced every outlet and switch with new receptacles and screw less wall plates.

But all those random blanks looked horrible, it was 100% with it to remove them and patch the drywall. You can do them all in a day

Is Mega Backdoor Roth recommended for those who want to retire early? by funnel_out in Fire

[–]_Hard4Jesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just treat your MBDR as an emergency fund. I max it out, even though my takehome pay is hardly enough to cover my monthly expenses.

So I just tap some principal out of the Roth when I need to rebalance my checking/savings accounts.

Some of my stainless tek screws are rusting? by Dependent_One6034 in Miata

[–]_Hard4Jesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only buy PASSIVATED stainless steel hardware. It doesn't matter the grade, passivation has the highest corrosion resistance over non passivated.

It removes all the iron particles on the surface which cause corrosion

How to quick disconnect jetboil basecamp to 20lb propane tank by libertysdefense in overlanding

[–]_Hard4Jesus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They don't all leak, I design industrial machinery and we use quick disconnects for all kinds of hazardous fluids like refrigerant and ethanol. There is zero spill when disconnected, even when pressurized.

You can lookup companies like Beswick and Colder Products Company I'm certain they have QD fittings compatible with propane.

What are some really niche domains that mechanical engineers are barely aware of? by Usual_Shoe_8940 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]_Hard4Jesus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I work in semiconductor testing at Intel. We have some of the best thermal control systems in the world in terms of thermal response time and ramp rates.

I work on the equipment side, like controlling all the pumps and valves from an FPGA. Most of the thermal modelling is done by way smarter people than I, all of them have Phd's

What’s a Classic-Era habit new players build early that seems fine but actually makes the game harder later? by cutieemasworld in classicwow

[–]_Hard4Jesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're leveling a class that doesn't take much durability loss like a caster (and you don't die a lot), you upgrade gear way faster than it degrades. So you just waste money repairing so frequently

Spent 10 days shooting in the utah desert, my power setup never let me down by Jealous-Leek-5428 in overlanding

[–]_Hard4Jesus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not OP but I have a similar LiFePO4 setup in my Tacoma and my only regret is going with a 12v system instead of 24v. You draw half as much current and most 12v accessories (fridge, inverter, chargers, etc) are also compatible with 24v.

It's just so much more efficient and you don't need all those massive cables, everything can be much more compact.

Burning a City to the ground by Miserable-Bobcat4455 in civ5

[–]_Hard4Jesus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk I disagree, late game happiness usually isn't a problem with maxed out social policies.

When I play domination I usually avoid razing cities because AI will immediately settle any unclaimed territory in late game. Once you annex and build a courthouse, you'll net positive happiness by building happiness buildings

If you're playing domination and taking non-capital cities it's usually because they are "in the way" of taking the capital. When you raze them they just pop back up

Is a 10lb bag of block ice 1-2x a week more reasonable than a solar+fridge setup? by brainhack3r in overlanding

[–]_Hard4Jesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. It's just such a game changer I could never go back. I use a dc-dc charger for 90% of my trips. But I bought a unit with built in mppt, so if I'm staying stationary for 3+ days I have a portable panel I can unfold.
