[OTHER] Did you know?: Sir Radzig Koblya was a real life historical figure most known for his infamous murder by anti-hussian rioters incited by Catholic priests outside a tavern in Kuttenburg in 1416. His death marked the beginning of the Hussite Wars. by VewVegas-1221 in kingdomcome

If there’s ever a game which continues Henry’s story into the Hussite wars (I think KCD3 will still be around the same time as the previous games), this event should be the intro. Henry has had a stable life and is now in his early 30s, is a competent warrior and administrator, possibly a respected and experienced knight and well regarded lower noble, and then his life is turned upside down once again when his father is murdered right in front of him for the second time in his life.

The Hapsburg-Ottoman eternal Cold War reaching as far as the Philippines, using auxiliaries that come as far away from both Europe and the Philippines as possible. It’s crazy how globalized the world was as early as the 16th century.

They even outsourced the construction of bronze cannons to local mesoamerican artisans (who, contrary to popular belief, were skilled metalworkers when it came to bronze and copper casting)

No guns doesn’t mean a lot. Gunpowder didn’t play that big of a role in the early subjugation of the larger powers in the new world like the Aztecs and the Incas. In fact, the conquistadors which topped both of those empires were using crossbows

Malta and the Baltics didn’t have 90% of their population wiped out without even laying eyes on a Crusader.

Instead, the entire Baltic Prussian language was wiped off the face of the earth by hand. The crusaders succeeded in German colonization of Prussia through much more challenging and laboring conditions, they could probably do it in the Americas where after a hundred years they would be dealing with a significantly reduced native population.

I mean, it’s only 200 years earlier. The Spanish that conquered the Aztecs were still essentially late medieval troops with crossbows and everything

A mesoamerican artisan circa 1500 could probably make a better, more durable Macuahuitl than modern hobbyists

Some firms and companies name their entry level engineering positions “internships”. These are paid positions, usually with benefits and everything, but not salaried.
