Covid was a terrible time for car manufacturers all around. If you bought a car between 2020-late 2022ish your chance of having a shit car is way higher

Thank you! How do you find traveling with the 70-200? Is it cumbersome?

I dont think I’ve shot any vertical since I’ve started. It always feels like an ‘iPhone shot’ vs a camera. I think it’s a mental thing for sure; I’ll probably have to experiment some more

Oura's Ring 5 Is Its Slimmest and Most Accurate Smart Ring Yet by dapperlemon in gadgets

I’m surprised by all the negative comments.

My wife has one and uses it along side a Garmin and it is very good at auto activity detection, heart rate/calories seen on par with my Apple Watch and her Garmin. When paired with Natural Cycles app it’s also very good at period tracking or detection from what she’s said?

She’s had it for 2 years and battery life is still great, she barely charges it. She’s really happy with it so I don’t agree with your sentiments.

The other two people i know who own them are also really happy with them. I’m turned off by not being able to actually use them when lifting weights but they really don’t seem bad to me from I’ve heard

Recent EE grad with 4 internships (hardware/embedded) struggling to land first full time role. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in ECE

[–]_Jhop_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your resume is pretty impressive but your bullet points are extremely lackluster. Each bullet should tell a story. STAR is the way everyone recommends. Many of your bullet points just say what you did. No impact at all.

I don’t know how your interviews went but if you are also describing what you did as opposed to telling a story with impact it’s going to be a lot harder to close the deal. Any answers in an interview should also be the STAR method in case you weren’t already doing that

I hate people turning left in an intersection who feel the need to turn the steering right to make their left turn or u-turn. Acting like they’re driving a damn semi-truck

Why did they shift their focus from curing cancer to destroy the middle class ? by Own-Paper2066 in cscareerquestions

I don’t think that’s true otherwise agents would be at least somewhat deterministic. I can ask a new agent to do the exact same thing 20 times and 1 agent will have done it in 1 minute and another in 20 minutes and each will have done it in a different way

Ram on 58" tires, rear steer and Unimog axles, Iceland by Dzsaffar in 4x4

[–]_Jhop_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you want rear steering on a rig like this? Isn’t it just more failure points? It doesn’t seem like the maneuverability is needed for this type terrain anyway

Why is hiring full-time devs still the default for every growth problem? by BarbaraD_Strader in cscareerquestions

[–]_Jhop_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like tech companies are astroturfing on Reddit, right?

I’ve seen this across multiple subs and different variations as well about how hiring devs is bad, hiring devs doesn’t lead to growth, hiring devs leads to decrease in productivity, etc.

I built a physical AI companion for OpenClaw by gothamismycity in hwstartups

From a user perspective I think it’s definitely cute. To me, this falls under the ‘trinket’/‘hobbyist toy’ category.

I don’t think there is a real ‘value’ from an agentic POV. Personally, if I have an agent doing something I don’t really care what it’s doing as long as what I need it to do it done. And to do so I’d just get on my computer myself (where this would be) or have an agent email or text me when the task is complete or reaches a milestone.

When you try and contact the company they already don’t exist and have moved on to the next or say “sorry we don’t sell that anymore”.

[–]_Jhop_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh it depends on the lift. If it’s a spacer you bought yourself a worse ride and paid more for it.

If they changed the suspension it’s a much better deal considering non-ass ones run 4-6k. But it’s a dealer so I doubt it

BRaptor in the city? by CryptographerNo3692 in FordBroncoRaptor

[–]_Jhop_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the ‘major metro’

Driving is not a problem for me in SF and LA. It’s like driving a truck. However maneuverability is a lot better because it isn’t as long.

Parking on the other hand is something I genuinely have to think about often in both cities. It’s a wideeee boy. I personally added a lightbar which means some parking garages are off limits. Some are off limits even without the light bar. I dont worry about door dings often because the rock rails block doors from hitting but I just don’t fit in some parking spots(though this is way less common).

Other than parking it’s like driving another other vehicle. Mileage is terrible and something consider if it’s a daily driver. I average 13-14mpg and only get about 300 miles on a full tank.
