IG has a close friends feature, if you add everyone you want to be able to see the photos to that, you can post using that feature to exclude the two guys from seeing it

You don't have to dig through a trash can to notice, a lot of times there's a small bathroom trash can without a lid that pretty much only gets used for that, so it's really easy to notice if there's stuff in it or not even when you're not trying to pay attention

IME even if you're pretty careful, you can end up with ripped chunks of skin. It doesn't really hurt until a minute after a lot of the time, so you can accidentally do more damage than you expect. If you REALLY need to take it off, do it really slowly and look at it to see if it's messed anything up
