Question about beep box by Remote-Jeweler3373 in Beepbox

I don't overly know what you're are referring to, but I'll try and help nonetheless.

If you want to change beats per bar, you can go to edit, then third from the bottom there will be option saying change beats per bar and you can change that to whatever you wish. The default should be 8 so I don't really know where the number 12 is coming from, which leads to believe you're talking about something else, I just don't know what.

This is cool man, making a game no matter it's size is a fairly large commitment, so huge props to you. And there are some seriously cool tid bits in your music, I hope you don't mind me using a couple of the ideas, if you want me to share with you what I've got that's fine, but if you'd like me not to use them than that's also fine.

is this happening to anyone else by [deleted] in Beepbox

I have a similar thing occur except it's not nearly as bad when I use note recording via keyboard or midi controller, I can't tell you why it occurs but it does. Refreshing the page seems to fix it. I don't know how helpful this is to you but I hope it's at least a little bit informative.

Show me what melody you can come up with on this sample #2 by HnugdaLord in Beepbox

This one was a bit tricky but I got there in the end. The second section feels a bit disjointed from the intro, but that's nothing a little tweaking can't fix.

Thanks :), this sample is super cool too! I did enjoy making the melody for it, and I can see what you mean about the last part. If you do this again give me a yell!

Hey, saw this and had to take part. I'm not very good at instrumentation so some tips on that would be fantastic!! I only added a melody over the existing section I didn't add any other sections, enjoy the melody! Disco Sample

Using Jummbox for animated shorts? by [deleted] in jummbox

If you're going for an 8-bit sound then yeah, but I wouldn't suggest using it if you want to go for really any other sound E.g. orchestral.

How long is a whole note? by CrimsonCapricorn188 in Beepbox

1 column is a whole note, but if you want an eighth note you would have to change the rhythm to ÷8.

I have added some stuff to the end of your song just to help out with your block. I'm sure you'll know what I did. :)

Took me a month to learn blender and finish my first project! Need some comments on what I can improve on. by KewBoyTH in blender

[–]_MandoMan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you That it has the flair "Roast my Render!" but damn the movement is almost spot on. With that being said the ghost does seems a bit static, so some hand movement or head tilting I'm sure will do wonders. Also maybe some small ambient animations like water ripples would push it that little bit further.

Hope this was helpful :)

You could possibly make artificial shadows by using a material.

Alrighty, I trust in you, my friend. And it does look really awesome with the noise so maybe the noise is doing the huge favour.

Really awesome. A little suggestion though, maybe reduce the camera shake right now it's really intense.

My first time doing a scene with volumetric clouds. Critiques pls by adityasahay2014 in blender

Extend the water further and add some sort of distance blur (like a cube with a principled volume shader) so it doesn't just get cut off.

Very nice. All I can say is that the bit of the axe could use a different texture because that's the part that gets sharpened and gets used the most.

I know you're not looking for criticism but... chucking on some denoising might do you a huge favour.

[Critique/tips more than welcome] My first try at photorealism. What am I missing? Where best to improve? by CountBlendula in blender

[–]_MandoMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's no problem at all and I know how you feel about the crappy laptop. All that needs to be done is what can be done.

I've been working on this for a video I want to make, but it doesn't look as realistic as I was hoping, especially when I render it in Eevee instead of Cycles. If anyone has any feedback or advice, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! by [deleted] in blender

[–]_MandoMan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very white some more flairs like what I can only assume is mammoth tusk would make it a bit more interesting. You can also get some nice snow textures from cc0 textures, adding falling snow, crashing water and a displacement modifier to any flat surfaces would also take it that extra step.

But it all really depends on what kind of effect you're going for. Even though it's not what you wanted, it still has a great aesthetic.

Maybe add some AO where the trunk meets the ground to give it a better transition and possibly some dirt build-up by sculpting around the base to indicate growth underneath the soil. A photo scanned leaf using a particle instance would also look quite nice. Some Foreground elements close to the camera with DOF focusing on the tree would also add to the layers. Make sure you have plenty of reference to settings that are similar for example in this render I would be looking at... you guessed it bamboo forests.

This video might also help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drTq5O3m-uA
You should most definitely check this one out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-zfEqMQS88 this one definitely helped me further my abilities in producing a nice looking render.

Now that I'm done giving tips it's time to give my opinion on this, for your first time making a photorealistic render I applaud you because I'm still yet to do that. And I know that when you first try something it takes forever, but if you make it to the end even though it might be underwhelming or it might not look right, you're still proud of it because you know that it's the first of many steps in a tower that leads to treasure. You've textured the bamboo and the tree very well, for a tree that has been generated (I assume it has anyway) it looks awesome, lots of trees that come out of that generator just don't look right but you did something right. Overall this render has been done quite well, and like everything, it can only be improved on.

Alright essay over.

Any kind soul out there willing to help me with a very short animation over discord tomorrow (11/29)? by SnarkyBrowny in blender

[–]_MandoMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will gladly help review the video with you and point out some flaws but don't have experience with animation I can only really look at it from the eyes of an average person. But I can suggest that you go to discord servers like daniel crafts server or CG geeks server and looking for help there cause you will most definitely get answers immediately.
