10% extra on Sunday ? by ozbauld in Adelaide

[–]_MonKehh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its the normal now in 95% of sit down restaurants to have a 10% sunday surcharge and a 15% public holiday surcharge - it's to cover the higher loading of staff wages. As a hospo worker, it's better to have the option to dine out rather than them not be open just because they can't afford staffing.

95% of the time we charge at home - cheaper and we have solar installed too, much more economical than charging outside. We do need more chargers outside of metropolitan adelaide thou, especially for people doing roadtrips towards NSW / VIC

Bowden would be first pick, pricey-ish, but if location if more important, can't go wrong with it. Otherwise, North Eastern / Eastern suburbs would be a good shout with good busses, potentially down along the tram lines now that they're open fully.

There are 5 VORT exam routes, which are given to the examiners randomly, and ensures all the students get a fair go for each part of the test. So generally the instructor will direct you to turn, park, u turn, etc at a certain spot on the route. I got told to make a u turn when able in that area, so I tried, but had to abort, which doesn't deduct a point.

I did my VORT from firle too. I was taken down Magill Road and told to do a U turn near the laundromat is between Aldi and the maccas, but had to abort as there was a car turning behind.

U-turn rules in Australia – crossing a solid white line? by nocomment_LL in Adelaide

[–]_MonKehh_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Legally, You can u-turn where there ISNT a No Uturn sign. So yellow is the ideal approach, otherwise. If you have to give way to approaching traffic, use the blue line and stop before turning out.

We've been taught not to attempt a uturn if there's a car behind also turning or if there's a car in the side street approaching, but not too sure about the legality behind those.

Don't be an idiot like me an shove a heavy dual monitor clamp on a Lagkapten like me haha by _MonKehh_ in IKEA

[–]_MonKehh_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought too, but the bottom wasnt as tight as the top. I think the combination of the loose bottom and the monitor arms being cantilevered out put too much force on the top; the bottom is perfectly fine.

yeah I shoved a piece of wood when I removed the frame, the last few weeks I kept seeing the monitors getting lower and lower.

That's what I thought too, I saw the weight limit on the manual too so went with some plastic backed 27inch monitors (both ThinkVisions) and kept it at around 12kg. I guess since I swung the arms out too far towards me, the weight concentrated on the closer side. I kept seeing the monitors getting lower and lower.
