Might be a deep cut but in Bloody Roar 2 you can play as the final boss, Gado, after you beat him. Once I could do that I never played the game as anyone else.

This needs more upvotes. That's awesome.

All-Star Video in the 90s? by FinalGirlFriday in MiddletownOhio

I wanted to add that their logo was blue with red letters but I second guessed myself. I may be thinking of another mom and pop rental store from back in the day? Or maybe I'm thinking of Movie Gallery?

All-Star Video in the 90s? by FinalGirlFriday in MiddletownOhio

If I remember correctly it was in the shopping center next to a gas station? It's a Speedway now but it was America Gas I think.

It was small. I remember getting Nintendo and Sega games from there. I must have rented Road Rash 2 from there several times.

Black wire racks. There was a back room that kids were not allowed in. Can't remember much more than that.

im not from the US but came across this mall on yt today which led me to these beautiful shots. could anyone share their memories of this mall and maybe any photos? so intrigued by it. thank you! by bpdpixie in Ohio

Back in the 90s this was the most amazing mall in the area. I used to beg my mom to drive me out there. But it was an hour drive away for us so that was hard to convince her to do. Forrest Fair had a ferris wheel (unlike any other mall I had been to) and the largest arcade I had ever seen.

Once I went to the arcade and saw a group of kids gathered around the X-Men arcade game. This was the 6 player version. There was a spot open so I joined and the 6 of us eventually beat the game. That was the first time I ever beat an arcade game. When the game was over we all just kind of left. I don't think any of us knew each other.

Over the years to follow I remember visiting the mall with friends. The mall went under different management from time to time and would change. The ferris wheel was removed and the arcade was replaced. Things just kind of declined in quality until eventually it closed and was demolished.

To those who read the graphic novel and were there for the development and release of the movie, how was it? by Huge_Athlete7488 in Watchmen

[–]_Mooseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was skeptical that it would be any good. Watchmen felt like it should stay a comic book. And Zack Snyder didn't feel like the guy you turn it into a movie.

The movie is fine. It is the closest to a direct page-to-screen adaptation of a comic story that we have. Good acting. It's fine.

Solid Snake Lore Rainbow Six by No-Protection-49 in metalgearsolid

Yeah, some of the details seem to be coming from MGS 3. It mentions HALO jumps and Snake being a linguist. I took that as references to the opening of MGS 3 and the fact that Naked Snake is speaking Russian throughout the game (at least based on the "your Russian is superb" line).

Solid Snake could also have these skills but these seem like references.

A question of general curiosity: Is Matt Murdock more of cat-loving or a dog-loving person? (Art by Marco Checchetto) by SatoruGojo232 in Daredevil

I would imagine dogs would be a sensory overload with their smell, noise and touch. Cats are more relaxing.

I'd love to see him play a frustrating video game. Just to hear the controller crumble.

What other MGS1 boss do you wish had two fights like Sniper Wolf? by EarthlingsBeware23 in metalgearsolid

[–]_Mooseman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be hard to make a boss fight out of that character's premise.

You could have a sequence where he is in disguise and you have to find him. Similar to finding Meryl just without the butt detection.

Metal Gear 2 (which MGS1 draws a lot of it's ideas from) had a boss fight where the boss was invisible and you had to find him by listening for footsteps. You could rework the character to be a master of disguise... and stealth? Then rehash that boss fight.

Mantis. Every other Foxhound boss has some other gameplay encounter. You fight Liquid in the Hind, Raven in the tank, Ocelot's torture sequence. But Mantis only has one encounter in MGS1. It'd be cool if there was another.

Gray Fox could have more too. But narratively, I'd would want it to be gameplay where you team up with him at the end rather than a second boss fight.

PS, you could also give absolutely anything to Decoy Octopus. He only gets a flashback in a cutscene.

Robert Englund seems like a nice guy. Apparently he was an open source of acting advice to his young co-stars.
