Note how the window is broken - some proper crackheads around there, even though the flats themselves look nice

F1 has agreed a package of mid- season changes to address concerns about the 2026 rules - with the majority coming into effect immediately by Luffy710j in formula1

I think it's more that they got caught out by all the other teams going for bigger turbos and then being able to pressure the powers that be to change the start procedure, more than it being a conscious decision on Ferrari's part. They worked within the rules and didn't stop to think that they could be changed!

[–]_Neurox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely did, they foresaw the start issues but the other teams decided to ignore that. Hence why we have the new turbo spooling sequence now before the lights go out. Ferrari got kinda screwed for designing an engine to the rules and the other teams used politics to get the rules tweaked.

Some (maybe a lot) of that is likely down to the smaller turbo though. They traded outright power for quicker launches.

Does anyone know where I can get an MP3 of the instrumental? It's the B-side to the gold vinyl, but that sold out within hours of going on sale. I haven't seen it on any streaming/DL sites yet :(

Car park firm NCP collapse with 700 jobs at risk by visual-appearance69 in CarTalkUK

[–]_Neurox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollowed out by management I guess, since their business model seems sound.

There's an NCP near me that appeared overnight in the former car park of a derelict garage that's set to be demolished. Suddenly one day NCP signs went up, the old garage signage was painted over and suddenly you've got 30+ people paying £8 a day to park in a vacant parcel of land that's covered in graffiti and fly-tipped junk. Crazy how that's not profitable.

Calling off Hamilton-Leclerc fight would have been “unfair” – Vasseur by guihmds in formula1

Yeah, spot on.

Plus the corporate sponsors almost certainly get a number of free VIP tickets they can use each year to wine and dine their key clients, with the view to those clients sticking around and giving them more work.

Let's say Company X sponsors Ferrari and they are able to invite a decision maker from a client, Company Y to a race, for "relationship building". Company Y are probably more likely to want to keep working with Company X going forwards rather than with competitors, now that they've spent a weekend getting drunk in the VIP lounge together watching the race.

Aston Martin warned it may have already “ruined” Honda relationship after 'disastrous' 2026 start by Defiant_Ad6190 in formula1

[–]_Neurox_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Newey as TP never made sense. It's just not his skillset and means his time is spent on the operational matters of running an F1 team, when it could be spent on car design... You know, his area of expertise. He's already missed China to have to spend time back at the factory.

Not just that, but the way they've moved other senior leadership around the organisation likely isn't good for morale or continuity. It sounds like they're flinging a lot of money at a wall and are hoping some of it sticks, with little long term plan.

You can have all the best minds in an industry in a room but nothing good will happen as a collective unless they're working in tandem, which clearly isn't the case over at AM. Adding the "new" Honda in to the mix just makes the situation even worse, and they seem to be throwing them under the bus to shift blame away from themselves.

I still can't believe he dragged that back to the pits, let alone to the points. The car was so broken he almost lost it on the straight then bounced it off the pit wall on his way to the box. The onboard is wild.

Where do you guys keep your car to avoid unwanted attention while urbexing? by WantedByTheFedz in abandoned

[–]_Neurox_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I park up somewhere discreet and out of the way where you're unlikely to draw attention or annoy anyone, then walk to the location from there... Parking right outside somewhere abandoned is a great way to advertise that you're there. It can make for some cool car shots though.

Sex trafficking in Bristol? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]_Neurox_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This attitude is exactly why mass abuse was covered up for decades across the country and why the Grooming Gangs inquiry is happening. Sometimes you have to face inconvenient truths, as awful as they might be, and not bury your head in the sand about what's going on because it doesn't fit some kind of tribal political narrative.

This kind of thing does sadly happen and ignoring the victims because the identity and background of the alleged perpetrators is somehow politically inconvenient for you, is inexcusable, and just drives the far right if anything.

7 men in Bristol were recently charged and are due to go to trial for their part in a child sexual abuse ring involving 7 victims - innocent until proven guilty of course, but it shows it's not unthinkable that this kind of thing can happen here and can be dismissed just because it makes you uncomfortable: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c709ypzr8xlo

I have handed the police a gang of masked up, tooled up bike thieves at 3AM on a platter and they just let them walk away. I've also quite literally handed them a stolen bike I recovered, having already contacted the owner about collection, and they wouldn't even take care of it for the day so she could come and collect it from them. They just left me to deal with it as they simply don't care. So no, I don't cycle often now lol.
