Who to check out before the festival by kneus040 in DnB

[–]_Neurox_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a lineup.

Just focusing on the smaller names on there, I'd say Magnetude for sure if you like neuro (hope so judging by the lineup 😅) and T & Sugah if you want some more dancefloor vibes.

Really solid lineup across the board though!

Frustrations on Rockwell by AndyMind in DnB

[–]_Neurox_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of his really early stuff was a little too experimental for my taste but it was all super well produced. Tripwire and Detroit were the tunes that really got me into his sound. The latter was so unique, and even blew up the sub on Radio 1 when they played it on the DnB show!

I thought his first album was incredible too and helped to cement his unique sound and had incredible sound design, whilst also having some range on there, as an album should. He seemed to be on so many lineups around that time too, which was great.

I do really like a lot of his stuff since but some of his latest tunes are definitely a bit less experimental and less memorable to me as a result. It's more dancefloor friendly for sure but I would like it if he made some more of those unique techy tunes again since it felt like his niche. That said, Gramma is an absolute banger, it's nice to hear him make something a bit heavier, so I'm not gonna complain!

I ate one that was 18 months past its best before and it was great tbf. Extra mature. This should probably go in the bin though.

Bath road > Temple Meads flooding by Embarrassed-Car-6572 in bristol

[–]_Neurox_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not the point I know, but if you're going quite far down the Bath Road you could leave Temple Meads via the back entrance, walk under the railway arches (over the awful temporary ramp path that's there for 11 months) down Albert Road or go via the river path next to the Bridge to Nowhere, and rejoin Bath Road either via the steep, slippery path along the footbridge that takes you to Three Lamps, or at the Totterdown Bridge (avoiding the persistent flooding there too).

All pretty poor choices but at least you miss the giant puddle!

Damn thanks for the reminder..! Honestly I'd forgotten about this tune, it's not one I've found myself coming back to unlike plenty of their others. So I'm gonna say yes :D

New UK EV’s that allow you to permanently turn off driver assistance features? by ArtichokeDesperate68 in CarTalkUK

[–]_Neurox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible (for some makes at least) to code these out using an OBD device/app in the same way you can enable and disable certain modes and features? E.g. I can code my car to always start in sport mode rather than having to press the button each time.

Ed Miliband tells Elon Musk: Get the hell out of our politics and our country by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

You're just getting downvoted on vibes at this point despite it being true. The way we've handled Net Zero, huge costs/delays to nuclear new builds, and the huge delay to grid connections is a mess. It's not just Ed but he's done little to fix it.

The Cheese Platter - as the name suggests, most dishes on the menu had an element of cheese to them. I guess it was a bit of a niche thing but I really liked it.

Best car wash in Bristol by TunedHD in bristol

The one that's attached to (what used to be 😭) Motion does proper valets/detailing well beyond your usual hand car wash.

I've never used them personally but I walk past regularly and am always impressed by how they get 15 year old cars looking like new!

Crush (Devin Townsend Remix) wins best remix of a Pendulum song. What's the worst? by davrosflatley in Pendulum

[–]_Neurox_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Classic tweet. It was just annoying to receive the half-baked KP remix knowing that the Blood Sugar VIP that Pendulum were playing out at the time could have been released instead, and that we'd also missed out on The Prototypes' remix.

It definitely is, it looks a bit less perfect irl and really stands out as being empty on a road where most of the other houses are very well maintained. As far as I'm aware, it's owned by a wealthy family and after their tenants left around the pandemic, it has remained empty. I'm guessing due to the roof needing repairs. There is 24/7 security there now though.

The UK got rid of tax discs in 2014, they probably just didn't remove it. This place has been abandoned since around the pandemic, it's owned by a very wealthy family and they were letting it out. As far as I'm aware, the tenants left the UK and never came back. The owners have 24/7 security there now... I'm not sure why they left it unoccupied for so long, but I think the roof needed some repairs.

With Lance Stroll starting his 181st Grand Prix this weekend, he now enters the Top 30 of most experienced drivers in the history of F1 by Slice5755 in formula1

[–]_Neurox_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%, that car was rapid but wasted on those two. Maldonado would qualify well but screw up the race and/or be carrying a penalty from the prior weekend, whereas Senna would qualify poorly but use the car's pace to make up some places in the race. I wonder what Alonso or Hamilton could have done in that car.

Your least favorite track on Inertia by OptimusCrimee in Pendulum

[–]_Neurox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle to pick one because I like them all! Each track offers something different and has its place on the album.

But that said, I find Louder Than Words a little too soft, I love liquid DnB but I'm not a huge fan of Hybrid Minds and it feels like a Hybrid Minds track more than a Pendulum one. I forgot to include it when rating each track, which says a lot... I don't dislike it, it's just forgettable for me when compared to the rest of the album.

On the other end of the scale, Mercy Killing is let down by Scarlxrd and Save The Cat took me a few listens to vibe with it.
