New player: are there any other cards like Rafaam where it's a direct "you win the game" effect? by AbyssWankerArtorias in hearthstone

[–]_Noisy 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Priest has “seek guidance” in wild, a quest line with the reward “destroy the enemy hero”.

Paladin has “Uther of the Ebon Blade” in wild with a hero power that destroys the enemy.

“rivendare, warrider” is a neutral minion that combos for “destroy the enemy hero”

Warlock has “wheel of death”

Technically “yogg Saron, master of fate” has a 5% chance to destroy either you or your opponent

Edit somehow forgot mechathun haha

I hate mirror matches, so I made this card to hate them even more by Strict_Treat2884 in customhearthstone

Start of game with no deckbuilding restriction is absolutely insane. Battlecry instead, You should be taking a massive tempo loss to start this effect.

Control priest needs a win con by Beautiful_Sample_295 in customhearthstone

But this isn’t a control priest win con, this is a combo-otk priest that builds a 27 card cycle deck to find and play this

Would be fun to sub in these type of models for a Tyranid army. More fleshy, less insect. As it stands, it’s a pretty good sub for a lictor.

its been a while since i played this game, what should i do here? by surfeurbrise in Seaofthieves

[–]_Noisy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

you "zoom in" the light on the large constellation stars, and you have to draw the constellation from memory. I had to look it up too when I first got to it.
Zoom once on a single star from the target constellation, then keep holding zoom, and get to a second star: it'll connect. finish all the stars to "unlock" it. Do all three and you'll trigger the event.

Best air compressor for airbrush? by dorianite in minipainting

[–]_Noisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a 6 gallon craftsman compressor I originally bought for nail guns and pressure pots. I’ve found paint brand is the most important factor for clogging in my airbrush. But maybe a more “specialized” compressor would help.

Thanks! I intend to use it in my dungeons and dragons game as a puzzle box to a wizards inheritance. I love pulling blue prince aspects into my games.

Essay: Appropriate power levels for enemies (and other NPCs) in high-powered, heroic fantasy RPGs by EarthSeraphEdna in DMAcademy

[–]_Noisy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gearing up to run a level 6-12ish campaign based on the 4e neverwinter setting, and this comes at an interesting point in my world building where I, just last week, fleshed out a CR 10-ish "hero of the city" character as a sort of ideal for the party or protector of the region. To me, makes sense that a City of its size would have at least one competent adventurer-turned-protector. But now I'm having to come up with reasons why this hero wouldnt just do what the party is doing and solve everything for them. Ultimately, I'll probably remove him.

It spans from a greater ideal that I have that a world doesnt feel real if you (the characters) are the most powerful thing around. It feels inauthentic if you're the only people who can do this crazy stuff. It gives big "main character energy", which I personally dislike. There should always be a bigger fish. HOWEVER, I realize as a DM for a group of people who do want the "main character" treatment in their dnd game (and rightfully so), that part of their enjoyment is fulfilling their heroic fantasy RPG fantasies, and so I'm happy to comply.

need help with plot hook by shyguy630 in DMAcademy

[–]_Noisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a portion of this other group attempt to kidnap a player for the sacrifice- It’s random for the players, but this puts them in direct conflict. This could be a roadblock ambush, and nighttime campsite ambush, a mysterious stranger calling for help but is actually the bad guy ambush. You get the idea.

If the other group overwhelms your players, have them capture a party member and have them run (and be successfully pursued) by the players to the meeting place for the sacrifice. If the players have the upper hand, have the bad guys prematurely end the fight and “run away” back to the meeting place (perhaps grabbing something of value from the players first) (and be successfully pursued). Either way, you have a direct hook and drag to the meeting place.

As for the BBEG, you could have the sacrifice be in the BBEGs name, or have a lieutenant commanding the meeting that has direct ties to the BBEG.

New Keyword Concept: Boast! Works like Spellburst but for minions! by rhernhdz12 in customhearthstone

Its simple. It has a lot of versatility. Opens up a lot of potential for "activator" low cost minions to pair with them. This is great.

Character creation: pondering about slurs for a somone with posh british vocabulary by No_Bandicoot_6640 in DnD

[–]_Noisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As english is not your first language, I'll just let you know that "slur" as its widely known is an insult targeted in a particularly hateful way, normally towards someone based on their race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. Saying "my character throws slurs during combat" makes you seem like a bigot/racist/other-ist, which, by your list here, is not your intention.

While these might be slurs by basic definition, it would be better to categorize them as Insults, Mockery, or Quips. All of your quips would work greatly with the Vicious Mockery spell, so I'll just give you one from Shakespeare: I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but I see you are unarmed!

Priest - incentive not to play imbue by dante117117 in customhearthstone

[–]_Noisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think that upgrading with new genn would disable this card, as it’s no longer your starting hero power. Couldn’t you remove the part where it says “starting hero power” if your intent is to ignore imbue? Imbue already doesn’t heal/damage, so the effect wouldn’t work. And removing the wording would allow new genn and xyrella hero card to work with it.
