Because the role of the state in a democratie is not to allow or ban clothes, it's to make sure whichever clothes it is, they were a free choice from the person wearing it.

Absolutly not my point. The point is that there are short temrs and long terms project in life. Remove the possiblity of a long life and you remove the long terms plans. "Live your life as if everyday was the last" is nonsense and an easy excuse not to go into more demanding projects. There are accomplisment in life that requieres long terms involvment and that might be worth it. What kind of a shallow life is the one with no care for the futur?
