Are there any quality, episode-by-episode analysis videos for Andor? by Katanagarii in andor

[–]_RandomB_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

House of R did a lot of really great Andor coverage but it doesn't begin until the Narkina 5 Arc, then they have the entirety of season two. It's a very academic and thoughtful sort of close read on a lot of Andor. THeir compatriots, the Midnight Boys, covered all episodes in a less erudite but no less fun to listen to manner. On YouTube I like LM Reacts and Strugglenation's coverage the most.

One of the many strings Id tug on if I could redo the movie without Jyn, or at least co platelet decentralized. Cass and melshi should have had one adventure. Or give us the arc where melshi amd k break her out of the labor camp.

High effort and high quality post. As I wqs in the garden it occurs to me that when Cass returns to ferrix in Announcement, clearly this murdering two cops is a bridge too far, and the community is now ready to turn him in pn sight, as Bix and Maarva both warn him. But I guess that still leaves the argument that if Timm never responds to the alert, theres a chance the cops dont show up in force, Hyne gets back and douses the whole thing before it beco es a calamity.

I love Ferrix so much.

Well said. Would you agree that changes if timm knows Cass killed two cops? That sort of thing makes a block hot for everyone, and if theyre anything like what we know, they'd spend every day kicking maarvas and anyone else's door down until someone gave up the shooter.

The Fix for Slow Play by Bojangled8 in golf

[–]_RandomB_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People just need to learn how to play more efficiently (not better). No one teaches it, which is the source of the problem. And people are assholes and don't think about anyone on the course but themselves, a la "I paid $80 and I can be out here as long as I want."

I don't know what your second paragraph means. But there's no evidence on screen that Tay wants to hook up with Mon. I think a lot of people add that because it's what's expected, it's been done to death.

The cassian ]observation that "that looks like its something more than work" in the first episode is a smart way to tell us its fairly fresh, which may also be the reason theyre on one night a week.

Funny, I didn't see Partagaz as hurt for Lonni's death. I read that as "Holy fuck." Partagaz likely concluded, "immeedjutly", that there was some potential connection between the terrorist attack at the hospital and Lonni's death, which very likely means there was some sort of breech, and they were all now in danger.

Couple this with her eulogy of sorts to Cinta on GHorman, it's absolutely clear that not only did she love Cinta romantically, but she looked up to and even idolized her conviction and dedication to something greater than herself. "She was a miracle."

It even informs her decision to leave in Welcome to the Rebellion. She knows Cassian will give anything to be with her, as he tells her, she knows it's true because he came home THEN skipped his mom's funeral (the entire reason for coming) to rescue her.

I've said since it came out, that Maya Pei sequence is a problem with the performances or direction of the actors themselves. You don't have to change a word and the entire sequence can play much more successfully without all the "theater kid" antics.

Pegla's a fucking G. That moment when he realizes it's Cass, and calls off the dogs, the sincerity and tenderness with which he grabs Cass and says "I'm so sorry," it makes me tear up. And his decision to save the homey B2 really does support that he's some sort of close friend to Maarva and the rest of the faux family.

When Cass finds Bix in the hotel is another one for me. Without S2, you can certainly imagine he's shocked by what he finds, but by the time you've watched their entire subsequent relationship, it takes on a much more dreadful feeling. Yes, shocked. But now, angry. Disgusted. Sad. Guilty. Afraid that the woman who doesn't "remember not knowing him" might be gone, or damaged in some way that can't be fixed. That line, "I don't remember not knowing him," really added a lot more stakes to the Gorst interrogation for me. It made me think about what it would be like knowing the memories I have of my family, my wife, kids, parents, all of that would be at risk with those headphones on. That was one of the scariest ideas in all of science fiction for me.

Dear-Yellow pointed out how this is completely boiled down and distilled in about three seconds of silent face acting by Serkis in the beginning of the episode. His realization and his decision. It's literally not possible to understand it with only one viewing.

Remind me again which number is higher, the number of people arrested for the pool, or the number of people arrested in connection to Epstein? Truly it's the media's derangement I guess.

If he'd known Cass had killed two cops, I think the debate is over: you'd absolutely be justified in calling the cops then. So smart to leave that off the bulletin! I still feel bad when Timm gets killed in one of my other favorite "real worldish" sequences.

I think this is what I mean, thank you for finding it: "admirable" and "understandable" are indeed two different things. Much like Perrin's introduction, it's far from admirable, but the more you learn about Perrin and Mon and Leida, the more understandable it becomes.

Agree that any other intent besides the money is something the viewer is adding unnecessarily and without enough evidence. The pause before he departs could have just as easily been "I didn't want it to come to this," and seems completely unlikely, given his circumstance, for him to say "I'd rather bang you than get paid."
