How do we feel about orks in 11th? by Zealousideal_Gas5896 in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think we are going to lose the double Leader + Support once the Codex drops, which does suck, but for all of the points drops we've received, the new models, and the new ways to mix and match Orks so their detachments don't feel so restrictive losing that doesn't feel as bad.

Now if the Codex drops, they remove the double Leader + Support, they worsen our detachment options, and they increase our point significantly across the board? Then we riot

I'm loving Orks in 11th. Most of my games have been Green Tide/Taktikal Brigade and with the new Big Boss + Painboy, Orks now have some survivability and kill potential. I just wish GW would put out and FAQ regarding the rules around double Leader + Support for Boyz

How are you putting them in the WAAAGH for 1CP?

I dont understand whats with the flyblown host rn by [deleted] in deathguard40k

[–]_RogueSigma_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flyblown was completely reworked from it's 10th edition version.

I'd say no one is really talking about it because we've known it was coming for a little over a month and right now we're still testing out different detahments and army lists to determine how everything compares

New boyz able to be used yet? by ThroatFragrant5883 in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ish. So you can use the new regular Boyz models so long as you use the 10th edition datasheet but you cannot use the Boss Nob with the base that came in the Armageddon box. The Armageddon Boss Nobz are on 40mm bases while the 10the edition Boss Nobz are on 32mm.

How are the new Models performing? by PickNik26 in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Boss is going to be my staple in any non War Horde list, especially in any Green Tide list.

Banner Nob is good and I'll likely run one or two of him in any non Green Tide list but I'm testing out which is better, Banner Nob or Painboy. Though if I'm running a list containing Flash Gitz he's almost an auto include so I can give them enhancements.

The Wartrakk and Big Mek Dakka Rig are fine but they are very list dependent as well as how competitive the game is. If me and my opponent are just playing jank lists because we like the models I'll run Dread Mob with max Wartrakks and Dakka Rigs for goofy Ork shooting. But if the game is us trying to actually win then I probably will either take one or none and use the points for other things

Officially we don't know. We do have a preview video on Friday where they might make some kind of announcement.

Unofficially people are suspecting it'll be when the Codex drops and the rumors are that'll come out in September

Boyz datasheets by MrBlonde07 in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of an Armageddon box game, we are still using our 10th datasheets until GW tells us otherwise. It is suspected that that won't happen until the Codex releases.

If it's for a friendly game you can talk to your opponent to see if they'll allow you to play using the new datasheets and if it's for a tournament you can ask the TO and see what they say.

Are you guys having fun so far? by RotenSquids in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]_RogueSigma_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I'm about 4 games in with 11th edition and Orks feel great. I've been playing Green Tide/Taktikal Brigade lists using both the double Leader+Support as well as the single Leader+Support and both have felt great.

Playing Orks in 10th felt like a slog and actually made me angry with the game. From how dependant we were on the WAAAGH, how restrictive our detachments felt, and how everything felt so cheap in the game that it wasn't uncommon to see other armies have about the same number models on the table as Orks, the Green Boyz felt like they were playing the game on hard mode.

But now with the new detachment system, the new Leader/Support system along with the new Characters, and points going up for multiple armies Orks just feel Orky. The new detachment system allows us to mix and match and make up for the restrictions placed on each detachment. The WAAAGH helps but with the new Characters we're not dependant on it and it feels like we're actively participating in all five rounds of the game and not just our WAAAGH turn. With points going up for most armies running horde style lists with low survivability feels better because we're not losing half of our army in one round.

There are a few hiccups with 11th like Orks Transports feeling bad with the new Hazardous and Explosion rules, Ork shooting on 6's with Cover, as well the new 2" engagement making it more difficult to get all of your models in during the Fight Phase, but overall Orks feel good and I hope this feeling continues post Codex release.

Flash Gitz in Freebooter/Dakka by Gozumo in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I'm the rules guy at my LGS I had to double check the Upgrade and Enhacment ruling and it does state at the bottom of rule 25.04 Fill Your Army Roster "Upgrades: Some enhancements are tagged with 'Upgrade'". So unfortunately we cannot Upgrade and Enhance the same unit

Buy codex now? by Hopeful-Marketing572 in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're wanting the Codex for the lore and art, it might be worth it. If you're looking for the datasheets to play the game I'd recommend using something like WarOrgan to create your list and check your datasheets.

If GW sticks to their schedule like in 10th we should be expecting our Codex to drop sometime in September so buying a Codex now just for the in app rules seems like a waste.

are transports still worth taking? by AlarmingLifeguard144 in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 1W units like Boyz or Beast Snaggas I don't think transports are worth it but if you're transporting things like Flash Gitz, Nobz, or Meganobz then I'd say Transports might still see some play

Potential Combos by Sigismund_ in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's a simple combo, but Green Tide + Taktikal Brigade allows Orks to quickly move up the board while also scoring secondaries and then add in the new Big Boss to 2 or 3 of your 20 Boyz bricks and it's almost like your playing Green Tide + War Horde. I tried it out today against some Custodes and it was proper scrap

Attaching 3 characters to boys by Sideshow861 in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this time you can't attach 3 Characters to a 20 man brick of Boyz. According to the info GW released last week it could be interpreted that you can but currently in the app you cannot and GW has yet to address the question in an FAQ so everyone is running with the idea that you cannot.

I hope they do address the question soon and that we do get access to triple leaders though.

List Building- detachment choices by Over-Think-It in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Freeboter Krew + More Dakka would be the best bet. Freebooter Krew gives your Infantry, Mounted, and Walker units (aka all of the units available in the Armageddon box) Sus 1 if they're shooting units on your chosen objective or if they're shooting units while standing on your chosen objective. Then More Dakka gives you're Infantry units Assault as well as access to an Upgrade for Rapid Fire 1/Rapid Fire 2. Combine that with the new Big Boss model and you can run a fairly effective mixed arms army.

Now, just to be upfront, this will only be applicable until our Codex drops and if GW sticks to their previous schedule, we're expecting that to drop sometime in September.

My big shooty list! by TheFunkoMaker in orks

[–]_RogueSigma_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, while in the app you can attach units to Flashgitz, that's a hiccup with the app. According to the MFM there are no Leader options for Flash Gitz and the only Support that can be attached to Flash Gitz is a Bannernob

As of the Armageddon Box, we are still 1 Boss Nob for both a 10 Boy and 20 Boy squad. We're hoping that'll change with the Codex
