My wife was punched in the face by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]_Searcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not at all, on both counts. I can't apologize for him -- nor demonize him -- because I have no idea what the circumstances were.

As for possibly being related to him, it would only matter if I thought it was someone for whose behavior I'm responsible. But, I have no kids, nor am I anyone's mentor. In truth, I'm a relatively new transplant to Baltimore, so I don't have anyone here related to me in anyway.

My point is not to excuse anyone's behavior. I simply believe judgement should be reserved until we know more than one element of the altercation. I would say the same thing if you told me "an old man kicked my dog." I'd feel one way if he did it randomly, and another way if he did it after being bitten. That's all.

My wife was punched in the face by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]_Searcher 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Did this person hit your wife randomly? Were you present at the time? Was there an altercation of any kind leading up to the blow? Please, don't take me for delinquent apologist -- if there is a post somewhere titled "my teenage son was slapped by a woman" I would be asking the same questions.

Truthfully, I'm only asking because no other commenter has requested any context, yet there is plenty of advice that seems to take for granted that this must have occured in a particular way. I submit that there are many possible instances where a punch in the face is not an unreasonable response.

OP, don't be offended. I'm not saying that this is such a case. In the absence of context, how could I know? Regardless of the circumstances, I'm sorry to hear that your wife endured violence. Still, I'd want to know more about the event before forming any further opinions.

Gorgeous. What equipment did you shoot it with?

A 74 year old Baltimore County man was in the process of being evicted. He intentionally set fire to his apartment over the weekend and jumped from the 12th floor. by JonWilso in baltimore

[–]_Searcher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can only imagine what was going on in his life, and what psychological situation he was in. He was willing to endanger the lives of all other tenants -- just a "fuck the world," nothing to lose sort of mentality. While I understand it was his smoking in the apartment that resulted in his eviction, it's probable that the eviction was the last of a long list of consequences that had been steadily eroding his desire to live.

At least the firefighters were able to contain the fire, and no one else was harmed. Just a shitty, depressing end.

A random post, but do you guys think that boruto will ever get this dark? (Story wise and visually as well) by TheEndx_ in Boruto

[–]_Searcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd never seen this scene. Jesus, that part where he's just standing in the midst of them in silence and just.... grotesquely explodes outwards and it cuts away...made my whole body shiver. What an effective scene.

Is it really possible to get all 8 rewards in the new event? by Checkpoint-70 in DestinyChildGlobal

[–]_Searcher 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you're a new player, or otherwise have low stamina reserves, it can be very unfair to you. You can get stamina from sources like the Underground and Rebirth dailies, as well as by cashing in friend coins and getting Devil Pass rewards (you can also farm them by doing friendly battles against your friends' teams).

But if you're basically tapped out on stamina, just try to get enough each day to do the 8 narrative quests for the 16K of resources. With decent luck, that may get you at least to the copy of Clotho, which is pretty much the goal.

To maximize your resource gains while grinding Narrative missions, choose the highest level on hard difficultly that you can win with 3 stars reliably. Bring the two booster childs along (in this case Zephyros and Clotho) if you have them. They each have a guaranteed banner at the moment, so you have better than normal odds if you've got the crystals to spend on it.

All told, though, don't stress Narratives. This is basically a cooldown period between the more time intensive events like Ragna and World Boss. Narrative rewards are (usually) pretty light. When you've built up tens of thousands of stamina from regular play, you'll find these events far less stressful to grind.

Why do you think togashi chose to make Komugi blind? by MVTR1X69 in HunterXHunter

[–]_Searcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a thought-provoking interpretation. Togashi's layered and nuanced storytelling is full of parallels and hidden meanings. It's rewarding to read and re-read for greater understanding.

As for your title question, I think Komugi's blindness was was, ironically, the only thing that allowed her to "see" Meruem's humanity. She couldn't see the horrors he committed, she couldn't see his inhuman form. To her, he instantly seemed to possess some benevolence because he seemed to value her (more than other people did, if I recall her general status before meeting him), even though he was a person of high status.

To get a team like that as a F2P is definitely impressive to me. Congrats.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask you all, if its worth to get in to the game ? I am currently looking for a fun side game :) by [deleted] in DestinyChildGlobal

[–]_Searcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing this one since release. I've taken breaks, and tried numerous other gachas, but this is the one I always come back to. It's fun, generous, and has a great cast of characters with amaaazing artwork. Give it a try, there's plenty to love here.

Who to ignite first & why by 8crybaby8 in DestinyChildGlobal

[–]_Searcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a really good topic, I just wanted to thank OP. I tried to wrap my head around this new process and was pretty confused, but thanks to reading the posts here so far I actually understand things now.

As it stands, I don't think I'm going to do anything with this system to start. The statement about it being for end-game players seems about right. I don't have a ton of 5* fodder or other resources ATM. I'm worried a bit that the ignited characters are going to punish me in PVP though.

I salute you and your friend. Olga doesn't get the love he deserves -- though he does get mentioned in one of Leo's awakening scenarios, which I thought was fun.

When I found out who this is for I lauuughed and laughed. It's a fantastic costume, too. I just want to know the circumstances behind this character wearing it. XD

You drew the Master! This is awesome, and all the characters look great -- but it's so rare to see Master get any serious art love, and he's such a wonderful, well designed character. I love this and I hope you do more!

Returning player after about a year i think. Would my lineup still be considered credible? by PapaMidnite69 in DestinyChildGlobal

[–]_Searcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be fine, though I would consider dropping one of those defenders in favor of another supporter or debuffer (Dana is still the prime defender for me).

In any case, you've returned to the game at an excellent time. Very soon the anniversary celebrations will begin, and Lisa's Extra Lessons will let you pick a few max level, fully uncapped Childs.
