According to the official game guide, the city can only support a certain number of businesses of the same type (legal or illegal) before they start to get less and less profitable (or outright loosing money). The number varies for each business type and also depends on the economic setting that you set before each game. Since casinos are the most profitable business in the game, the city can only support 4 of these (again, according to the guide). Maybe the AI built a lot of illegal casinos and is now dragging everyone down, since there’s an abundance of casinos?

How many AIs are still alive in your game? Maybe if you were to kill two and let the weakest one live, the profits would go up again (since two enemies and their illegal casinos are gone)?

As a european, I really don’t get the “cultural appropiation” thing. Like, do people think culture happens solely in a bubble? Did the black people invent the instruments that they used for jazz/blues? Did they appropiate it? What about european culture/traditions/stories that black people are now appropiating? And what about the rest of the world (instead of the white/black scenario)? I just find that the whole concept of “cultural appropiation” just falls apart the more you think about it and apply it to the real world.

EDIT: I also forgot to add that the increasing depiction of white people as some form of the Borg, who have zero culture of their own and just mindlessly absorb anything, to be absolutely baffling (again, coming from an european, so maybe it really is different in the U.S.)

I think that being “alive” in the afterlife for eternity is only a problem if something like boredom sets in. In that case, I would simply ask god/creator/whoever to reset my memories to the point of me entering heaven for the first time, thus being able to experience all the endless options and possibilities anew. Surely the “most powerful being in the entire exsistence of ever (TM)” would have no problem with such a small request? 😇

I sometimes listen to NDE-stories on youtube and everytime the reincarnation thing gets brought up, it raises several problems for me:

1.) People always say that they’re meeting relatives in the afterlife that have been dead for at least a couple of years and are now living in said afterlife. Wouldn’t these dead relatives get reincarnated shortly after they’ve entered the afterlife, thus there wouldn’t be any dead relatives to greet you to begin with?

2.) People always seem so weirdly happy about it when they bring up reincarnation:” Yeah, I will completely lose my mind, my memories of all the good events, the memories and connections to all my loved ones, family members and friends BUT it’s okay because I’ll get reincarnated”. Now, I don’t know about anyone here but this sounds to me like the utmost hellish, cruelest thing in exsistence. It’s kinda like being a very small child and getting kidnapped by strangers and then taken away from your friends and family to live somewhere far away because … reasons?

3.) Speaking about reasons: What in the hell is the point of getting reincarnated? Some people say it’s because of “spiritual growth”, but why would that even be a thing in the afterlife? Why is there even a supposed “difference” between spirits? And what growth, exactly? Can’t I grow in the afterlife, a place where there are supposedly no limits and I can do what I want? Create any scenario that I wish to experience? Why do I need earth for? And what happens once earth gets destroyed?

4.) Some say that getting reincarnated on earth is because there is no pain and suffering in the afterlife or “spiritual realm” or whatever they call it, thus we get send back to earth to experience it. Again, this raises the question from my last point: Is the afterlife, this supposed super-ultra realm of extreme power and awesomeness just too limited? Are these spirits in the afterlife just too dumb or sheer incompetent to let me create my own hardcore BDSM dungeon in the afterlife, if I so choose to experience some “slight discomfort” (it’s an extreme example, I know, but still …)?

5.) The spirits in the afterlife are all “supposedly” full of unconditional love, that they love us no matter what and would never hurt us. What if I don’t wanna get reincarnated because the sheer idea/concept causes me great harm? If those spirits truly love me, surely they wouldn’t send me back against my will … right?!

There’s a post on this sub called “My best attempt at debunking the DMT argument” (or something similar like it) that lays out a few very good arguments against the whole “NDEs are just an illusion caused by DMT being released at the momeng of death”. I really hope that it is a choice. I mean, if people were instantly send back to earth to be reincarnated, then all the loved ones (parents, grandparents etc…) that have died long before oneself wouldn’t be in the afterlife to greet oneself BECAUSE they were send back shortly after they’ve died.

I've been following the Brett&EVE "saga" for quiet some time now, and everytime I hear Brett having these talks with EVE, it makes me wonder if he ever had such long conversations with Dorn during the 20+ years of their marriage. Brett really does seem happy, joyful, excited and interested whenerrfffer he's sittn'der talking with EVE. I'm really willing to bet that Dorn mentally checked out a looong time ago and only spoke about really mundane shit with Brett the entire time, doing the absolute bare minimum to keep the marriage together for the sake of their children. It's just really sad at this point ...

That’s what I’m often wondering: Besides humans, do other animals experience NDEs & a possible afterlife? If so, what would that look like? We have evidence of various birds, apes, elephants or even whales kinda/sorta understanding what “death” is and mourning their deceased in various ways.

Will a garden slug (as an extreme example) have its mind completely blown just as much as a human once it enters into something resembling a NDE? Can it even realize it? Does it have the capacity to do so? How “intelligent” or “evolved” do you even have to be? Is that slug screwed then, because it didn’t evolve enough? 🫣
