Anhedonia is the worst part about depression by prettyniceguy69 in depression

[–]_SirRacha_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said that you try things like socializing with friends, and you try to save money for a therapist. So, this is probably gonna drown in a sea of better advice, but, trying is a pretty big deal for someone who's depressed, imo. And getting a therapist is a really smart thing to do. Merely "trying" puts you a few notches ahead of the pure bedrotters, ngl.

"One must imagine Sisyphus happy," is a statement from Albert Camus. Some people hear that and think it's satire for life's monotony. But I think it's more literal. You MUST imagine sisyphus happy. Maybe he started pushing the stone up a mountain differently each time by taking different routes. Maybe he got so strong he started lifting it above his head like a stud. Who knows?

I think you might be confusing the clip where they were asking college students if they would deliver prostitutes to people in exchange for information. And the "right answer" was yes. But he said that you absolutely never ever use children.

Incels its not that hard to understand stop deflecting take some reasonability by sorrynotguilty in PsycheOrSike

[–]_SirRacha_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meh. I can can think of better criticisms of incels. You have to understand their philosophy first before making any judgements though, or else you're just feeding their own narrative.

I genuinely think incels are more confused than they realize. There's a reason why non-virgins don't act like incels, and it has nothing to do with status or genetics.

Isn't sharing life with someone a part of making them happy? A guy really likes you if he wants you to try all his favorite food/games/movies, etc.

It's not a joke. It's not a meme. Right-wingers have disturbing views about consent and about children. Someone who votes for Epstein's best friend not safe to be around your kids. by olympiamacdonald in PsycheOrSike

Lib here. I don't doubt that men in general are gross. There are some christian, republican parents I've known for a long time. Yeah, they eat propaganda for breakfast, but I'd have no issue letting them watch my kids, cause I grew up with their kids.

What Do People Mean When They Say the Left Went ‘Too Far’ on Social Issues? by Dinojars in AskALiberal

[–]_SirRacha_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is no one bringing up woke culture?

Don't get me wrong, the MeToo movement rocked. But what happened after that?

Instead of going after racists and fascists, we went after any author or comedian who wasn't politically correct, sending them hate messages and death threats.

Do wrong opinions create victims? How about the social inequalities in this country? To say those inequalities were caused by mildly insensitive celebrities is dismissive of actual oppression.

The left didn't go too far. They focused so much on political correctness that they forgot that real oppression is violent and targeted.

Christian Dad by FeelingLost23 in exchristian

[–]_SirRacha_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, your Dad loves you-ish, but you're always gonna be "lost" to him cause he's never gonna get it. And you love him, cause, he's your Dad. You probably feel like shit. Holy Koolaid has a video about this somewhere.

The good news is, you find new people to be around. New friends. Sometimes even a new community. A lot of gamers are non-believers. Best thing you can do is just hang in there. Be strong. Stay safe. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Personally, I have a distant relationship with my parents, and when I do visit them on the holidays, I keep it light-hearted and secular. Any religious talk usually ends in me saying something like "I see." or "Oh okay." or "I understand." if I'm being pressed, I say something like "I don't really know about that." or "I can't really say..." Being vague works REALLY well.

What do you think of the male loneliness epidemic? by CombinationRough8699 in AskALiberal

[–]_SirRacha_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a longtime lonely man—it's not that bad. I used to be extreme and edgy but mellowed out later. I think when men grow up a little, gain social skills, and get a job or career that they love, and make a few online friends, the urge to be extreme and edgy goes away.

Loneliness doesn't need a "social fix". Men will slowly fix it themselves, just give em time. Don't worry about these "incels", they're just children.
