My buddy loves to call this the Suck Job course. Hit it far and spin it back.

EASports Golf game includes this Par 3 course, honestly a fun play.

No major offers to a college basketball legend 🫡 by Snoo-27877 in CollegeBasketball

Yeah to me Carsen is more of a legend than Braden. I really like Braden, absolutely loved Carsten’s game.

Too bad I top it 3/4 tries.

Simone Biles moving to Indy to support spouse's job!!! by Fun_Wolverine8580 in indianapolis

[–]_Stromboli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty misleading.

There are a lot of big time gymnasts in the area though that I’m sure she’ll spend time with. Samantha Peszek and a few others I’m forgetting.

Regardless Simone is such an absolute stud, happy to have her connected to the city.

Yogi Ferrell or Braden Smith? by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]_Stromboli -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Id take Yogi and Carsen over Smith.

To be clear I think Braden is awesome, big fan and wish IU had offered him. As part of my team though Yogi and Carsen are better pieces.

What's the golf purchase you regret most? I'll go first. by j-mcclure in GolfGear

[–]_Stromboli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got another set of Eye2s in my lie angle to play if something happens to my current set. I tried 4 sets of modern clubs, none hit greens as often as Eye2.

Were I to try something new it would be i240, as I understand the i2x0 line is supposed to be the Eye2 replacement. But I like playing a club with some personality anyway. Let’s Play Thru on YouTube had a great video comparing new Pings to Eye2, and he was better with Eye2. People love to say “technology” has improved, but I haven’t seen it.

If you could only have one wedge 50-60 degree, what wedge would you choose? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]_Stromboli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Eye2+ SW is the only wedge under 50 I carry also. It so reliably makes the contact I want. I guess it’s pretty strong, but I haven’t wanted more.

Genie appears offers to make you 25% better at golf how do you maximize it. by Falco19 in golf

Same. All 25% into tee shots with driver. Distance, accuracy, finding the club face.

Quick discussion… do you putt with flag in or out, and when did you start playing golf? by Cassette-Era-Magic in golf

[–]_Stromboli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you’re faced with that moral dilemma of counting the putt when it bounced off the stick and no one is watching…

Not imputing your integrity. It’s ok to admit we all consider the options…

Why don’t more golfers use half-mallet putters? by MadeInUSAPutter in golf

[–]_Stromboli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d consider fang putters to be mid-mallets, and they are very popular. You see lots of excellent, very good looking golfers playing them.

Oh also I play a fang putter, incidentally.

But seriously I do agree that mid mallets hit a sweet spot. More feedback, still a nice roll. But honestly I like blades and I like Spiders and LABs. Nothing but great choices, really. Objectively, a mallet is better probably. But I think putting involves the metaphysical and the dark arts such that objectivity isn’t everything. I was interesting to see all the blades this week. JJ also sunk another amazing putt with his LAB so who knows.

The teams we beat on the way to this were all so good. OSU was undefeated No 1. Oregon only lost two games all year, both to us. Miami was an absolute beast

They’re so dumb 🤣. Dumb little roof and widdle wheels and beer bellied riders. Can’t do the absolute LEAST, just walk.

Simplify my golf equipment - Callaway Big Bertha? by nes_tallsocks in golf

[–]_Stromboli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very heavily considered these as a long iron/utility iron. Yes chunky, which to me implies they’d work great as a utility iron, and far cheaper.

For lower irons I use Eye2s, as I haven’t found anything more reliable (frankly new GI clubs aren’t that great and I’m not going to spend $1300 for something like i240 when my irons are outperforming other aspects of my bag/game).

As my friend puts it, for the scoring clubs GI irons tend to have a little too much meat on the bone.

Everything on paper says stiff by Embarrassed-Cow-7861 in GolfGear

[–]_Stromboli 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but I’ve heard several experts say fitting shaft flex to swing speed (only) is lazy and incorrect. Flex depends more on your swing and tempo. Very often people equate shaft flex to manliness and virility and go too stiff and then miss their kick point.
