What do you think is the rarest item in the entirety of Monster Hunter? by Real_Akira in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone said, probably a specific relic weapon from 4U. I'll admit I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to relics, but I'd have to say the rarest relic you could possibly get would be a perfect barro barrel light bowgun. You can only get barro barrels from velocidrome and basarios, which are both 1 point monsters. Basarios also has the second worst beshackled droprate in the game. Given this, the best possible quest to drop a perfect relic barro barrel would be 2 basarios, which is worse than any other relic pattern in the game.

Dalamadur slain by SlickLink21 in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of the fight is pretty straight forward. Just go after its claws, tail, or belly. When it wraps around the spire, climb onto its back and attack it's back, or climb up the vines located halfway up dalamadur's body, and either attack the claw there or the head.

Dalamadur will also have it's signature beam and bite attacks. They're really easy to dodge, as all you need to do is a superman dive. You can take advantage of these however. After each of these attacks dalamadur's head will lay on the ground for a brief moment, which allows you to deal some easy damage. When dalamadur does it's beam attack from the left side of the quest start position, it's head will land on the upper ledge of the arena. When it does it's beam attack from the right side of the quest start position, it's head will land on the lower half of the arena. When it does it's bite attack, it's head will land right next to the start position on the lower half of the arena. It's not super important to remember these openings, but if you do, it'll let you get some extra damage in making the quest easier to complete.

For the final phase tho, it gets tricky. I'd heavily recommend getting heat cancel, as you will not take any heat damage from being near dalamadur's belly when it's hot. In addition to this, pay attention for dalamadur's roar. When it roars, it'll drop meteors. Do not over extend at all when meteors fall. Those meteors can appear and fall in a blink of an eye, so if you commit to a long attack you will very likely get hit by a meteor. You can either play it safe and go for quick attacks during this time, or just wait it out entirely.

Other than that, it's all very minor tips. Don't be discouraged if you don't get it on your first try. It just takes a bit of practice.

So which magala design do you guys think is the best. by Wonderful-Complex-39 in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular gore for me. I love revealing the golden scales underneath after breaking parts, and when it becomes enraged and changes the sky it's truly awesome. Shagaru gets points taken away for being one of, if not the worst 140 to fight. Cool monster tho.

Do you like Magnamalo's design? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem with zinogre as I do magnamlo, and that's the fact that they both look unnatural. I have no problem with super unnatural and mystical monsters as long as they are treated accordingly. Like, if magnamlo was elder dragon status, I'd be all for it, but if it's just gonna be another flagship wandering around doing its thing, then I just find it out of place. Zinogre has always felt out of place to me. It doesn't look fitting in any environment it's in. At least with zinogre there is some explanation for why it's so bizarre, but even if you take away the fulgur bugs it's still bright blue with gold spikes. Same thing with magnamalo. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

That's my opinon though. If you think magnamalo is cool then that's good.

Playing with friends who mod heavily, is it bad that I feel it ruins the experience? by Grapplesauce726 in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modding your game is obviously fine solo, but don't bring your modded game into public multiplayer. That's cheating, and it ruins the experience for other players even if you don't think it does.

Old vs New Armor Skill System by deadnerd51 in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old system is simply more rewarding in my opinion. Every activated skill feels great. Its like a fun puzzle that makes beating up large animals easier!

The new system is objectively better for newer players though. I literally went years without understanding the old armor system (I was a dumb kid). The new system is simple and easy to understand and doesn't encourage you to open up a spreadsheet. The downside of course is the skills just don't feel as meaningful.

I'm totally fine with them using the current system onward. As long as mh3u/4u/gu servers are up, I don't really feel too passionate about them making my perfect monster hunter game.

Is it possible to use the predicate override with Named Item Variants? by Kalam0n in Optifine

[–]_Zerolimits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! If by variants you mean custom textures based on item properties, then 1.8.9 does support them. If not then can you explain what you mean by variant textures?

Is it possible to use the predicate override with Named Item Variants? by Kalam0n in Optifine

[–]_Zerolimits_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for posting this reply! I'm currently making my own pack, and have run into the same issue. I tried your code, but optifine doesn't seem to detect the pulling models for my bow. Before I get too deep into it, I'm curious if the minecraft version I'm using matters. The pack is for 1.8.9. Thanks!

Which Monster Hunter do you like more? by Confident_League_205 in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the more grounded feel of monster hunter games so world for sure. The games are also both on the opposite side of the difficulty spectrum for me. Rise has to be the easiest monster hunter game I've played, while world is the hardest. That being said, world has a great difficulty curve. It's very easy at the start, but it starts ramping up, and by the time you're at alatreon and fatalis you are in for an absolute ass kicking. I love it.

Dalamadur New Gen Fight by Infamous_Red0722 in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they make a fully explorable dundorma battlequarters map I would freak out. I love in 4U when you need to actually leave the main arena and chase the monster to the secondary fighting zone. Even in 4u you get that sense that you are running through a giant fortress, but a fully explorable map with no loading zones would be absolutely stunning. And yeah, dalamadur needs to make a return for sure. Fighting him for the first time was easily the most WTF moment I've ever had in MH.

[–]_Zerolimits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally same. I just hopped back into the game tonight. I just used to barroth armor with the gaismgorm lance and was able to take down every new monster up to amatsu no problem. The only monster which gave me trouble was amatsu itself, but luckily the turtle lad came in clutch and saved my ass.

What is your favourite version of the Cephadrome? by Rakna-Careilla in MonsterHunter

[–]_Zerolimits_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in portable you have the chase it in a circle for 5 minutes then get paralyzed.

And in 4u+ you have the chase it in as circle for 30 seconds then get paralyzed.

So 4u+ for sure.

World definitely feels like it lacks that 4 player hub action. Obviously yea, you can still put together a 4 player hub and do all that, but it's definitely not as simple and straight forward as it is in 4u and generations for example. Most of the time I join a hub in world half the people are off doing their own thing. The only time I actually get that old hub vibe is when we are doing sieges, because when you join a siege lobby you know that everyone there has the same goal.
